A heavy, oppressive aura washed over him.

Looking into the distance, he saw a great river surging onward, lush greenery lining both banks. Huge groups of bare-chested people crawled across the yellow sands like ants.
They dragged—practically carried—massive stones to the edge of the desert, building towering pyramids and magnificent temples piece by piece.
Then the ages passed. Those pyramids and temples were buried beneath windblown sand, waiting to be discovered once again thousands of years later...

A piercing cry shot straight into his head. Shen Le shuddered and came back to himself, only to find a stone pillar towering before him.
Countless years of wind and sand had worn away its original appearance, leaving its decorations impossible to make out.
