Wang Dong'er's soul was forcibly split when she was roughly two or three years old. One half remains incomplete and would have dissipated without blue-gold divine power holding its fragments together. Electrolux describes the injury as crude and merciless. 36 37

She awakened her martial soul at age three but had a naturally weak constitution and required medicine until she could safely absorb her first soul ring at age six. Despite being raised with heavenly treasures and an unusually high-quality first ring, she initially showed little enthusiasm for cultivation. 18

Dong'er grew up on a mountain under the care of Da Ming and Er Ming, whom she calls “Big Daddy” and “Second Daddy.” Her parents were absent, and she had no true peers; other children were intimidated by her status.
