Ever since Qian Dabao, the Martial Souls awakened by the children who followed had all been strange and varied, mostly farming tools. One child even had a mouse Martial Soul. But none of them had Innate Soul Power, which left Su Xinhe rather disappointed.
Because he had once overlooked Tang San's Twin Martial Souls, he now paid close attention whenever someone awakened their Martial Soul. But this Su Xinhe seemed not to care? Or perhaps he didn't dare care?
Soon, it was Wang Dong's turn, just ahead of Li Changsheng.
Li Changsheng watched Wang Dong walk toward the Spirit Awakening Platform.
"The Clear Sky Hammer?"
With that question in mind, Li Changsheng stared at her.
Su Xinhe didn't seem to know Wang Dong. He simply followed the usual process for Martial Soul Awakening.
Although maintaining his Martial Soul Avatar for so long consumed a great deal of Soul Power, Su Xinhe didn't seem to mind.
Li Changsheng, however, noticed that at one point, Su Xinhe had taken out something like a device for storing Soul Power and used it to replenish his reserves.
He had done it so discreetly and cleverly that Li Changsheng might not have noticed if not for the Purple Demon Eye.
Wang Dong stood on the Spirit Awakening Platform.
Her small, pretty face wore an utterly calm expression.
"Focus on what you sense," Su Xinhe reminded her.
Then, like blazing waves, a tide of Soul Power rose and fell beneath Wang Dong's feet. Vast blue light seemed to have found its way home, pouring into her all at once.
For the first time, Su Xinhe's face showed shock. At the same time, he seemed to remember something and hurriedly schooled his expression, leaving only a faint trace of regret.
The blue light gathered faster and faster.
Suddenly, Wang Dong began to change.
Unlike everyone else, whose Martial Souls appeared in their palms, her transformation came from her body.
Li Changsheng watched closely as the Purple Demon Eye came alive.
He saw two pairs of wings suddenly sprout from Wang Dong's back—gorgeous, shimmering with shifting colors, and gently swaying.
What kind of wings were they?
Deep blue, azure, pale blue—three shades flowed together, as if the boundless ocean had been laid across her body. Her stunning wings stirred lightly, and surging Soul Power swept like a tide to the far edge of the sky before swiftly falling away, as if the heavens had become a mirror. Soul Power flowed through the patterns on the feathers. It was overflowing with power; even without testing, anyone could tell she had Innate Full Soul Power!
A pair of blue wings?
Bathed in the strange light, Li Changsheng stared at Wang Dong, momentarily dazed.
"She seems to be a girl..."
After living for ten thousand years, Li Changsheng wasn't easily fooled. The fluid lines and youthful features made it clear to him that she couldn't possibly be a boy.
More importantly, this Martial Soul was simply too beautiful.
Li Changsheng didn't care whether Wang Dong was a girl. What he wanted to know was, how could her Martial Soul not be the Clear Sky Hammer? And what was this winged Martial Soul?
"C-could you tell me what your Martial Soul is?"
Su Xinhe had abandoned his elder's composure, too. Clearly, even he had never seen such a beautiful Martial Soul.
Wang Dong raised her chin, its contours just beginning to emerge, and wore a hint of pride. "My Martial Soul is the Light Goddess Butterfly."
"The Light Goddess Butterfly? What kind of Martial Soul is that?" Su Xinhe muttered, confusion written across his face.
Still, he didn't waste any time. He raised the Soul Tool used to test Soul Power and said to Wang Dong, "Then let's test your Soul Power."
But Wang Dong's pretty, pink-and-blue eyes fixed on the testing Soul Tool, and a deep loathing instantly bloomed in them. She said to Su Xinhe:
"I don't need to test my Soul Power. I only came to awaken my Martial Soul."
As soon as she finished speaking, she walked down without even looking back.
But as she passed Li Changsheng, she gave a snort and shot him a sidelong glance with those striking eyes.
Then, under everyone's dumbfounded stares, she walked right out of the Sea God Awakening Hall.
Su Xinhe stood stunned for a moment, his face darkening, but he didn't lose his temper. He simply looked toward the last person in this group: Li Changsheng.
"Little fellow, it's your turn." His voice had grown cold and stiff.
Li Changsheng didn't care. He just felt that there sure were a lot of fools these days.
Then he stepped onto the Spirit Awakening Platform.
At the same time, he began circulating the Mysterious Heaven Skill.
The moment his foot touched the Spirit Awakening Platform, Li Changsheng felt something different.
It was gentle, as if he were soaking in a hot spring and dozing peacefully.
That affinity came from within him—more precisely, from the Mysterious Heaven Skill's inner power as it circulated.
As Su Xinhe once again channeled Soul Power, the Spirit Awakening Platform beneath Li Changsheng burst into unprecedented brilliance.
Light of every color shimmered around him. Splendid radiance, like ribbons of silk, gradually lifted him into the air.
When those azure ribbons wrapped around Li Changsheng, he felt so comfortable he nearly groaned. He could feel the gentle energy begin to churn along with the Mysterious Heaven Skill's inner power.
Then, in the blink of an eye,
something inside him seemed to break free of its restraints and surge without pause toward his outstretched right hand.
Bit by bit, he first saw pages turning, one after another. A simple halo of light flared in tandem, and amid the peaceful glow, a rustling sound rang out.
Su Xinhe, standing nearby and watching, stared at Li Changsheng in shock.
Could an awakened Martial Soul actually make a sound?
As the rustling reached his ears, he froze, his keen gaze fixed on the simple, shifting glow in Li Changsheng's palm.
Rustle, rustle.
The sound of pages turning continued. The light in Li Changsheng's palm suddenly burst open like an exploding orb, blooming with a soft pop.
Li Changsheng's eyes opened at the same time. His gaze, glimmering with violet, saw more clearly than anyone else as the Mysterious Heaven Skill's inner power left his body, flowing like a stream toward the Martial Soul taking shape in his palm.
A book?
A book?
Li Changsheng saw it, and so did Su Xinhe.
Li Changsheng saw an ancient-looking book, thick—very thick—about five or six centimeters. On its pitch-black cover were several characters that only Li Changsheng could read:
Genesis Book.
"Genesis Book? What a grand name! This is my Martial Soul?"
The hand holding up his Martial Soul trembled slightly.
Not from excitement, but because the book was so heavy—far too heavy. It was heavier than the Night-Startling Spear!
The ancient aura that swept over him carried no pressure. Instead, ever since the beginning, he had felt a strange connection, as if their bloodlines were one.
"L-little fellow, what kind of Martial Soul is that? Could you tell me?"
Su Xinhe felt that something about today was off.
If Wang Dong's Martial Soul had dazzled him,
then this child's Martial Soul made him feel a shiver of fear—a pressure of rank coming from the Martial Soul itself.
Li Changsheng smiled slightly, showing a maturity beyond his years, and said:
"My Martial Soul is the Heavenly Book."
He didn't add "Genesis." That would sound a little too ridiculous.
Fortunately, no one could read these simplified characters. Otherwise, his face would have turned bright red with embarrassment.
"The Heavenly Book? Then what does it do?" Su Xinhe asked.
Afraid Li Changsheng wouldn't understand, he quickly explained:
"A Martial Soul's ability determines how it attacks. Try sensing it. Does your Martial Soul have any attacking abilities? Or can it create something?"
Li Changsheng looked utterly lost.
He might have lived for ten thousand years, but he'd never had a Martial Soul, so he couldn't sense its abilities at all.
That didn't matter, though. While Su Xinhe was staring at his Martial Soul, he hurriedly asked the God of Wisdom about its abilities.
"My Martial Soul is the Genesis Book. You can tell me what it does now, right?"
He knew the God of Wisdom definitely knew. After all, it was a special skill that came with the system.
<Answer. Host, have you ever heard of words becoming reality?>
"What? Words becoming reality?" Li Changsheng froze.
Before you continue
