• Nara Shikatsuno told Sarutobi Hiruzen that Fox had killed Kaigyō and the Two-Tails with Buddha, and Hiruzen left the Land of Hot Water campaign to Fox.
• Dodai warned Gomui that Ryuujin and the Two-Tails had been killed, so Gomui ordered the Cloud Ninja to abandon Kyoto and retreat toward the Land of Moon.

• The Daimyo sacrificed a child and himself beneath the Evil God’s statue, survived his slit throat, and demanded power in exchange for everything in the Land of Hot Water.

• Villagers ignored Obito Uchiha's grandmother after she collapsed, leaving Obito to find her gravely injured in the street.
• Obito begged the crowd for help, but the villagers refused because of their hatred for the Uchiha Clan.
• Obito's grandmother told him that his parents had loved him and urged him to live well before dying from a cerebral hemorrhage.
• Obito's grief and isolation awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan, and he vanished with his grandmother's corpse.
• White Zetsu found Obito outside Konoha and invited him to meet Lord Madara, who could answer his questions and provide power for revenge.
