"Next time I forge, I can try infusing Soul Power and Spiritual Power," Jing Chen muttered.

He did not know exactly how the Thousand Forging and Spirit Forging of Tang Wulin's era had been achieved, so he could only explore it himself based on scattered fragments of information.

In this world, forging metal was not only about increasing its hardness, but also about giving it special abilities.

There was no other choice. An ordinary Soul Guiding Engraving Knife cost more than five hundred Gold Soul Coins, and he simply could not afford one right now.

Since he could not afford an engraving knife, he could only use the Ice Crystal Claw instead. After all, Soul Guiding Arrays did not have to be engraved with an engraving knife.

As long as he could carve lines into metal and infuse Soul Power into them while doing so, it would work.

Jing Chen did not immediately engrave the forged metal. Instead, he practiced on other pieces of metal.

While studying Soul Guiding Arrays, he had often used an ordinary small knife to engrave arrays onto stone. He was already extremely familiar with holding a knife to engrave.

But he had never used the Ice Crystal Claw for engraving before. Worried that the results would be poor and waste materials, he first practiced on other metal.

Using claws to engrave felt somewhat awkward at first, and the lines he drew were far from satisfactory.

Only after more than an hour of repeated practice did his engraving finally become somewhat normal.

Jing Chen began engraving arrays onto the forged metal. He worked carefully, so his speed was not fast.

The array he was engraving was the most basic Level 1 Soul Guiding Array. Its difficulty was not high, at least not in his opinion.

The only difference between engraving now and engraving during past practice was that he needed to infuse Soul Power into it.

With two super martial souls, his Soul Power was extremely abundant. Though he only had level fifteen Soul Power, his total reserves were comparable to those of a Soul Master in their twenties.

Such an amount of Soul Power was naturally more than enough to easily support the engraving of a Level 1 array suited for someone with Soul Power in the teens.

The Ice Crystal Claw was exceptionally sharp and could easily cut lines into metal. This was also an important reason why Jing Chen found engraving relatively easy.

After engraving one piece, Jing Chen immediately began on the second, then the third, the fourth...

As the number of arrays he engraved increased, Jing Chen increasingly appreciated the benefits of the Ice Crystal Claw.

Its iron-cutting sharpness made engraving effortless for him, consuming very little Soul Power and allowing him to engrave continuously.

The time required to engrave an array was roughly the same as the time needed to forge metal—both took more than an hour.

Looking at the fully engraved metal components, Jing Chen nodded in satisfaction and began the final assembly.

Jing Chen was extremely familiar with assembling weapons like this. Back on Blue Star, he could assemble a small weapon with his eyes half-closed.

Although this Soul Tool differed from Blue Star's weapons, their assembly methods were largely similar, with many common points.

In less than five minutes, Jing Chen completed the assembly. A standard Soul Guiding Ray Gun had been made.

"Whoosh." Jing Chen pulled the trigger, and a red beam shot out from the muzzle.

The beam struck the barrier at the edge of the Time and Space Divine Tower and vanished immediately, as though something had swallowed it. It caused no disturbance at all.

Jing Chen was not surprised by this. He had conducted tests before and knew that the Time and Space Divine Tower's barrier could ignore attacks.

"I should count as a Rank 1 Soul Engineer now, right?" Jing Chen said as he played with the Soul Guiding Ray Gun.

This Level 1 Soul Guiding Ray Gun ranked among the strongest Level 1 Soul Tools, easily placing within the top five.

Having made it, he definitely counted as a Rank 1 Soul Engineer—and one of the best among them.

He actually had some ideas for improving this Soul Guiding Ray Gun, but he had not done so to avoid drawing too much attention.

After all, he intended to sell Soul Tools. It was more appropriate to make ordinary, conventional Soul Tools for sale.

Once he was older, it would not be too late to sell improved Soul Tools.

After playing with the Soul Tool for a while, Jing Chen put it away and began studying theory.

He had less than thirty percent of his Soul Power remaining, so he could not complete a second Soul Tool.

Not wanting to leave himself weak and powerless, he did not use up the remaining thirty percent of his Soul Power and instead did something else.

It was dangerous for him to go outside right now, so he could only stay inside obediently and conduct theoretical research until Yi Yi returned.

Jing Chen was quite willing to remain in the Time and Space Divine Tower. Here, he had nearly one-third more time than in the outside world, giving him more time to use.

Night soon arrived. Once Yi Yi saw that it was dark, it stopped hunting Soul Beasts and ran back with cheerful steps.

Jing Chen carefully examined Yi Yi. Seeing that it had not suffered any injuries, he sighed in relief and began asking about its gains for the day.

"Yiyi. (I killed more than ten Thousand-Year Soul Beasts.)" Yi Yi spoke proudly of its achievements, looking as though it were asking for praise.

Yi Yi possessed high intelligence. After Jing Chen had told it several times which Soul Beasts were Thousand-Year Soul Beasts and which were Hundred-Year Soul Beasts, it had learned to judge for itself.

Its basis for judgment was the energy fluctuations emitted by those Soul Beasts. The energy fluctuations of Hundred-Year Soul Beasts and Thousand-Year Soul Beasts were fundamentally different.

Jing Chen brought Yi Yi into the Time and Space Divine Tower. As he cooked dinner, he listened to Yi Yi recount its day.

Thousand-Year Soul Beasts were fairly common in the Star Dou Great Forest, and Yi Yi found them relatively easy to hunt.

In eight or nine hours, it had killed sixteen Thousand-Year Soul Beasts. Several of them had been stronger than that Azure Nether Turtle.

Such results somewhat exceeded Jing Chen's expectations. They were much better than he had imagined.

After killing sixteen Thousand-Year Soul Beasts, Yi Yi's cultivation increased by more than four hundred years, reaching over two thousand seven hundred years. Its strength also improved slightly.

After eating dinner inside the Time and Space Divine Tower, Jing Chen came outside and sat cross-legged to meditate, recovering his Soul Power.

Yi Yi obediently lay atop his head, comfortably dozing. It did not truly fall asleep and remained alert.
