Background

Bibi Dong studies and helps manage minor Spirit Hall affairs. While working in her residence, she hears Lu Mingchuan’s private thoughts for the first time and recognizes his voice. His affectionate behavior toward her had concealed a much harsher opinion, prompting her to question his intentions 1.

When Yu Xiaogang approaches her in Spirit City, Bibi Dong can hear his thoughts as well. His attempt to present himself as a knowledgeable mentor fails to impress her; after he claims to be protecting her from Lu Mingchuan, she orders Spirit Hall Academy students to remove him and attacks him herself 4 5 6. She later confronts him at the South Market and arranges for her disciple Cuihua to approach him 12 17 18.

Bibi Dong also becomes increasingly attentive to Tang Yuehua’s closeness with Lu Mingchuan. At the Pope’s request, she accepts etiquette instruction from Tang Yuehua, then asks her to maintain a calming domain while Bibi Dong cultivates. Bibi Dong finds that the domain eases the negative influences of her martial soul 16 20 21.

Appearance

Bibi Dong is described as beautiful, with a graceful figure. For Tang Yuehua’s visit, she changes her usual style to a fitted purple gown modeled on Tang Yuehua’s clothing 1 16.

She is assertive and willing to use her authority against Yu Xiaogang, while remaining curious about what Lu Mingchuan knows and intends to do. Her interactions with Tang Yuehua mix cooperation with jealousy over Lu Mingchuan’s attention 6 11 16 19 21.
