Background / History

The Xiao Family was formerly one of the strongest clans in the Central Plains. After their ancestor Xiao Xuan failed to break through to Dou Di, the clan’s bloodline power was exhausted and the family declined. By the present era, its strongest member was only a Da Dou Shi. Xiao Xuan’s panel identifies Gu Yuan—who had been entrusted with the clan’s care—as having allowed this decline while sending Xiao Xun’er to seek the Tuoshe Ancient Emperor Jade left to the family. 1 6

The family later held a position in the Gama Empire’s Imperial Capital under Xiao Lin, a Dou King. After Xiao Lin’s death, the clan lacked a Dou King protector and withdrew to Wutan City to survive. 51 53

At the beginning of the story, the family’s internal politics are strained. Several elders seek to end cultivation-resource support for Xiao Zhan’s sons Xiao Ze and Xiao Yan after their poor test results, while Xiao Zhan defends them. 1 2

Xiao Ze’s sudden rise overturns the family’s perception of him. His defeat of Xiao Xun’er as a four-star Dou Practitioner shocks the clan, while his later revelations as a Dou Shi and Grand Dou Shi earn the elders’ respect and allegiance. 6 11 27 31

The family’s stature rises further when Xiao Ze provides the Tier 6 Imperial Extreme Pill, enabling Jia Xingtian to reach Dou Zong. In gratitude, Jia Xingtian and the Gama Empire’s royal family promise support to the Xiao Family. 25 30

After Xiao Ze becomes a Dou King, Xiao Zhan announces the family’s intended return to the Imperial Capital. The elders initially hesitate, but Jia Xingtian confirms Xiao Ze’s realm and backs the plan. 51 53 54
