Background / History
Su Chen’s diary describes Poseidon as the first Sea God. More than twenty thousand years ago, he began bringing the warring sea races under his rule. He unified the ocean over 1,001 years and founded Sea God Island 200.
At the Asura God’s urging, Poseidon ordered his high priestess, Bo Saixi, to rescue Tang San from the Heaven Dou Empire’s Heavenly Prison and recover the Heart of the Sea God for him. Poseidon knew little about Tang San at the time and rebuked Bo Saixi when she questioned the choice 197 282.
Bo Saixi later summoned Poseidon’s divine consciousness during Spirit Hall’s invasion of Sea God Island, hoping he would see the danger of continuing to support Tang San. Poseidon instead threatened Su Chen and attacked him. Su Chen dispersed the manifestation, and Spirit Hall conquered the island, destroyed its statue, and renamed it Angel God Island 385 390 391 392.
Poseidon sought action against Su Chen through the God Realm Committee, citing the deaths of two officials of his Sea God Hall. He tried to draw the Rakshasa God and Angel God into the dispute; the committee ultimately sent the Angel God to the lower realm 460 475 476. Later, Poseidon descended with the God of Destruction’s force to protect the Clear Sky Sect 575 582.
With Sea God Island no longer available as an inheritance site, Poseidon personally began Tang San’s God Trials at sea. He accelerated Tang San to the seventh trial and gave him the Sea God Trident, but said the eighth trial still required Tang San to reach level ninety and obtain soul rings for both martial souls 587 596 597. At the Clear Sky Sect confrontation, Poseidon rejected Bo Saixi’s final advice to surrender. The Angel God and Rakshasa God severely injured him, and Su Chen subsequently defeated him 602 605 606.
