Nick let out a shout and charged forward with his weapon.

He swung his flail. The red-hot iron ball passed through the Evil Creature's body, trailing wisps of black smoke and scattering gray fragments.

When the Evil Creature touched Father's armor, the Flame Cloud Pattern on it lit up, scorching the creature once more.

Kraun noticed strange sounds pouring into his ears from all directions.

It was like someone nearby was playing hoarse, unpleasant music, or like a sharp blade scraping against metal. A feeling of agitation and madness welled up inside him at once.

I can't visualize right now. Kraun quietly took out several Heart-Clearing Talismans, lifted his clothes, and stuck them to his chest and back.

A faint coolness spread through his body, and most of that maddening discomfort immediately faded. What remained felt like an annoying fly buzzing around him now and then.
