"Fellow Daoist, how did you get in?"
Before he knew it, an old man had appeared beside Ye Lin.
Standing at Ye Lin's side, the old man asked softly. There was not the slightest emotional fluctuation in his tone, as though Ye Lin's arrival had caused him no surprise whatsoever.
"I came to speak with the Azure Dragon Clan about an important matter."
Looking at the old man beside him, Ye Lin nodded. This man was surprisingly pleasant.
"Oh? An important matter? As it happens, I am the Azure Dragon Clan's patriarch. What a coincidence, wouldn't you say? However, Fellow Daoist carries the aura of my clan's Ninth Elder. I presume our Ninth Elder has already met with misfortune?"
"Right, let me introduce myself. I am Long Aoxiang."
Long Aoxiang's tone was exceedingly gentle. He seemed like a stranger rather than an enemy, without the slightest trace of the bearing an enemy ought to have.
It was as though he felt no surprise at all over the death of the Azure Dragon Clan's Ninth Elder.
"Yes. He spoke out of turn, so I casually killed him."
Ye Lin could not help but feel slightly surprised as well. He did not know why the Azure Dragon Clan's patriarch was being so reasonable.
But since that was the case, he simply told the truth and waited to see how things developed.
"That calamity was written in his fate. I did not expect that, in the end, he still failed to evade it."
"Fellow Daoist, this place is very safe. Whatever you wish to discuss, go ahead and say it. I can still make the decisions here."
Long Aoxiang let out a soft sigh, his tone full of gentleness.
With a few words and gestures, he had brushed aside the Ninth Elder's death.
