There had originally been a full hundred thousand reinforcements, but now only a few thousand remained. Fewer than one in ten had survived.
Thus, the Demon Beast siege came to a temporary end. The surviving soldiers began removing their armor and settling down to live in Solitary City.
Once they were dispatched to the front lines to resist the Demon Beasts, Solitary City became their home. They could never leave this place for the rest of their lives.
