Beneath that solemn, colossal Dharma manifestation of the Buddha stood two figures.
One was the overbearing Shen Muge; the other was a young man in monk's robes, seated cross-legged on the ground.
At that moment, the young man had his eyes closed, sitting cross-legged with his palms pressed together as he softly chanted Buddhist scriptures.
"Gu Chen, Gu Chen... I finally found you."
"Though I don't know what method you used to make all these powerful figures protect you, the matter is now set in stone."
"Today, no one can save you."
After speaking, Shen Muge slowly raised her hand.
Laws surged within her palm.
"Benefactor, this humble monk has long ceased to be Gu Chen. This humble monk's Dharma name is now Qingran."
Qingran opened his eyes, his palms still pressed together.
After speaking to Shen Muge, he bowed to her.
His manner was utterly unfamiliar, as though he did not know Shen Muge at all.
"It's fine. I only came to kill you."
The moment Shen Muge finished speaking, she attacked.
"Amitabha."
Shen Muge's terrifying power was instantly dissolved by a streak of golden light.
That golden light even sent her flying back a hundred paces.
After retreating a hundred paces, Shen Muge looked up.
An elderly man in monk's robes, his face filled with compassion, was slowly walking toward them.
"Senior, what is the meaning of this?"
Shen Muge's expression darkened.
"Amitabha."
"Benefactor, Qingran is this humble monk's disciple. If you wish to kill him, this humble monk cannot simply stand by."
The old man spoke calmly, his palms pressed together.
"Fine... fine. Fine, fine, fine. Since that is the case, Senior, this junior shall take her leave."
Shen Muge said "fine" three times in succession before turning to leave.
"Senior, I will return in one year."
