"You can go by Sword Elder for now."
"If anyone asks, tell them your name is Sword Elder."
"That'll be your name from now on."
"If anyone asks for your full name, say you're old and can't remember it."
After a moment's thought, Ye Lin spoke.
"My name is Sword Elder?"
"That works. I'll accept it."
"I am old, after all."
The old man lying on the ground nodded gently.
He really was old, and there were plenty of things he could no longer remember.
"Mm. Good."
Seeing how obedient the old man was, and how steady his temper seemed, Ye Lin nodded in satisfaction.
Truth be told, he had already decided to let him stay.
A fighter who would work for free.
Keeping him around had plenty of benefits.
"From now on, you can stay here. Whatever you need, just tell the people outside the door. They'll take care of it."
"All right."
Sword Elder glanced at Ye Lin, then nodded gently.
"Good. As long as you don't attack people at random, you can stay here for now."
"Stay as long as you like."
With that, Ye Lin left with his hands clasped behind his back.
He hadn't expected to pick up a powerful expert for nothing without lifting a finger.
"Little fellow, why are you treating this old man so well? What are you after?"
Ye Lin had barely taken a few steps when a languid voice came from behind him.
He turned and saw Sword Elder looking at him through bleary, drunken eyes.
Whether that state was real or an act, he couldn't tell.
"I may not remember much, but my mind still works just fine."
"You're treating me this well because you want something, don't you?"
When Ye Lin said nothing, Sword Elder chuckled and continued.
