In the blink of an eye, more than ten days passed.
Mingyue Residential Area, detached villa No. 117.
Cool moonlight streamed through the window into a room.
Having just finished a set of Advanced Guidance Technique exercises, Zhou Hao did not even have time to wash off his sweat before sitting cross-legged in the five-hearts-facing-heaven posture.
Very soon.
Cosmic energy seeped in, flooding into his body and being frantically absorbed by his starving cells.
Several hours later.
Cracking sounds came from his bones, and his entire body grew taller once again.
Though he was only a three-year-old little boy, his build now resembled that of a five-year-old child.
Zhou Hao opened his eyes.
He padded quietly into the bathroom and rinsed himself off.
When he returned to his room, his little brow furrowed slightly.
Counting the day his sister had taken him to the Limitless Gym, two months had passed without him realizing it. After nearly uninterrupted check-ins for two consecutive months, he had obtained a large amount of Mental Power Master Talent and Warrior Talent, yet his physical fitness still had not reached the level of a High-level General.
"Too slow," Zhou Hao muttered, somewhat dissatisfied with the speed at which his strength was improving.
Over the past month, aside from checking in, he had fought countless Beast Generals in the Wilderness Zone. Despite working so hard, he had seen no breakthrough improvement.
For a genius with a system cheat at his side, this was practically the same as standing still.
"Looks like I need to change where I check in." He considered it silently.
He had actually long since squeezed all the benefits he could out of the Limitless Gym.
If not for his desire for Mental Power Master Talent and Warrior Talent, he would not have kept checking in there.
But now, it seemed that staying in one place to check in really did lead to painfully slow progress.
Beep beep~
Suddenly, the sound of a telephone came from the living room downstairs.
Zhou Hao put away his thoughts and was about to head down when he heard his mother, Wang Rong, quicken her pace.
"So Mom was still awake." He shook his head. He knew that his mother had actually been worrying about his sister all along.
He quickly went downstairs.
Zhou Hao saw delight appear on Wang Rong's face.
After hanging up the phone.
Wang Rong could not help but smile. "Xiao Hao, your sister is coming back tomorrow."
Surprised, Zhou Hao said, "My sister's coming back tomorrow?"
"Yes. She's finally coming back—it's already been a month. I'm going to tidy up her room. Hurry back to sleep. Tomorrow, Mom will take you to the train station to pick up your sister." Wang Rong happily headed toward Zhou Ying'er's room.
Cheng Family Mansion, Kyoto.
"Outrageous!" An angry roar rang out from the luxurious living room.
A middle-aged man in casual clothes glared furiously at Cheng Jin.
"You're not young anymore. I don't stop you from pursuing girls—I even encourage it—but look at what you've done!" The middle-aged man was seething. "Is the family's Elite Warrior Squad meant for you to use however you please?"
"You actually had Qiu Cheng lead the Sabertooth Tiger Squad to hunt Beast Generals as gifts. How could you even come up with something so absurd?"
Cheng Jin remained silent.
The middle-aged man still did not let him off, shouting, "Now our Cheng Family has become a laughingstock! Call back the Sabertooth Tiger Squad immediately. And for the next six months, stay at home and behave yourself. You are not allowed to go anywhere, and you are not to touch a single bit of the family's resources."
Cheng Jin immediately said, "Dad, give me one more month. I guarantee I can win Zhou Ying'er over. You also want me to get married soon and carry on the family line, right?"
The middle-aged man shot Cheng Jin a fierce glare.
"What? Do you really intend to marry that girl, Zhou Ying'er?" His eyes were full of disdain.
Cheng Jin nodded heavily.
Seeing this, the middle-aged man looked surprised, and some of the anger faded from his face. "I've read Zhou Ying'er's profile. With her talent and potential, she'll probably top out at a Mid-level General. If the family provides her with resources, she could reach High-level General, but breaking through to War God is almost impossible."
As he spoke, he fell into thought. "You'd better think this through."
Without hesitation, Cheng Jin said, "Dad, I made up my mind long ago. I don't have much Warrior Talent. Being able to marry a High-level General would already be quite good. As for a War God, they probably wouldn't think much of me, and our family's resources aren't enough either."
"Hmph, at least you know your own worth." The anger on the middle-aged man's face finally vanished. "Fine. I'll give you another month. Don't take things too far!"
"Dad, I understand!"
At nine the next morning.
Wang Rong brought Zhou Hao to the train station early.
Large numbers of martial artists came and went around them.
"Mom, Sis probably won't arrive until after eleven. We came too early." Zhou Hao looked at the blazing sun and continued, "How about we go rest in the HR Alliance Mall across the street while we wait?"
Wang Rong glanced at the grand, imposing building opposite them and shook her head. "It's rather expensive there."
"Hello, Auntie." Just as Zhou Hao was about to speak, he sensed hurried footsteps behind him, followed by a voice.
He and Wang Rong turned around together and saw a neatly dressed man walking over with a smile.
Zhou Hao narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?"
He had actually recognized the man. He was Cheng Jin, one of the Cheng Family's direct descendants.
Confusion also appeared on Wang Rong's face.
"My name is Cheng Jin. I'm Zhou Ying'er's friend," Cheng Jin said as he stepped forward.
The moment Wang Rong heard that, her expression changed. She could not help looking Cheng Jin up and down, nodding to herself. "Young man, you look quite sharp. What is your relationship with Ying'er?"
Cheng Jin smiled. "Zhou Ying'er and I met at the Kyoto Training Camp."
Wang Rong's eyes lit up. "So you're from Kyoto Base City?"
Cheng Jin nodded. "Yes, Auntie. You and Ying'er's little brother came to pick her up, right?"
Speechless, Zhou Hao hurriedly interrupted, "Cheng Jin, right? My sister has never mentioned you. You're not pretending to be her friend to scam us for materials, are you?"
Wang Rong's expression changed.
Cheng Jin glanced at Zhou Hao, still smiling. "Little brother, don't talk nonsense. Auntie, Ying'er and I have known each other for quite some time."
As he spoke, he raised his wrist, checked his watch, and continued, "Ying'er's train arrives at 11:37. There's still some time. Auntie, let me treat you and your son to a drink."
Without waiting for Zhou Hao or Wang Rong to respond.
Cheng Jin directly added, "I happen to own several shops in the Alliance Mall, so we can have drinks for free. You won't need to spend any money."
Wang Rong could not help feeling tempted. "Th-that wouldn't be appropriate, would it?"
"Please don't mind it, Auntie. I'm sure Ying'er wouldn't want to see the two of you waiting in this scorching weather either," Cheng Jin said with a smile.
"All right, then. Sorry to trouble you." After thinking it over, Wang Rong agreed.
Zhou Hao curled his lips. Cheng Jin was the son of a financial conglomerate, yet he actually knew to take the route through his mother. Still, Zhou Hao did not make a fuss and followed him into the Alliance Mall.
The mall's lobby was extremely spacious.
The polished floor reflected clear images of people.
Wang Rong was still somewhat reserved.
Cheng Jin, meanwhile, remained calm and composed as he led Zhou Hao and Wang Rong to the lounge area.
As soon as they sat down, he warmly asked Wang Rong what flavors of drinks she and Zhou Hao liked, then personally went to get them.
Watching him, Wang Rong said approvingly, "Ying'er's friend seems like quite a nice person, and his family background doesn't seem low either."
Zhou Hao could not help asking, "Mom, what are you thinking?"
"Your sister isn't that young anymore. If she can find someone good to be with, Mom can worry a little less. The Wilderness Zone is dangerous, after all. Mom doesn't want anything to happen to your sister." Wang Rong sighed.
"Mom, your idea isn't bad, but my sister has to agree first."
"Of course. Your sister still has to make her own decision. I'm only giving her something to consider."
Only then did a smile appear on Zhou Hao's face.
