Leon S. • Pallas possessed the elder elf, shattered the elves’ defenses, and slaughtered or incapacitated much of the UNSC squad despite their attacks.
• Leon used Full Moon Water to corrode Pallas’s barrier, but Pallas crippled him and overwhelmed the remaining soldiers and Emergency Response Team.

On June 25, 2089, a mysterious blue vortex appeared beneath a collapsing commercial building in Kogler, swallowing the internet café where Tom and his friends had gathered. Umbrella’s Emergency Incident Response Department took control of the scene as specialists began investigating the vortex.

• Tom and his classmates entered the Boya internet café to play a virtual reality game during a double-rewards event.
• As Tom put on his helmet, the virtual reality system went dark and the building shook violently.
• The Boya building collapsed into the ground, revealing a faintly glowing blue vortex beneath the damaged underground systems.

Umbrella’s Emergency Response Team crossed a vortex into another world, rescued survivors trapped in a collapsed underground passage, and discovered a storm-ravaged surface beyond the sewers. The chapter ended with the team facing rows of enormous Tower Pillars covered in glowing red Egg Sacs.

• Umbrella technicians sent a scout drone through the vortex and found survivors buried in rubble beneath an underground passage.
• The second lieutenant reported the discovery and led Charlie, Delta, and Rama Squad through the vortex to investigate and rescue the survivors.
• The Emergency Response Team used their Power Armor to land safely, secure the area, and begin pulling people from the rubble.

A UNSC team discovered humanlike beings suspended in Egg Sacs inside a machine-tended structure beyond the Space Gate on Kogler. Sui Bian learned that billions of humans were being kept and experimented on by artificial intelligence and set out for Kogler to investigate and confront the situation.

• The lieutenant and two sergeants observed Tower Pillars containing sleeping humanlike beings and ordered their squad to begin rescuing survivors while establishing a forward base.
• A transport craft and six Vikings left Buenos Aires and headed toward Earth's low orbit.
• Angron asked Sui Bian about his trip to the Musang Sector, and Sui Bian told him to go to Kogler without mobilizing forces on a large scale.
• Sui Bian reviewed the team's footage and recalled the system's mission to eliminate the artificial intelligence, liberate 7.2 billion captive humans, and preserve the Space Gate.
