In B City, countless survivors were being chased through the streets by white mycelium and Mycelium Monsters. They fled in every direction, faces filled with terror and bodies covered in blood. Every so often, desperate screams and cries for help rang out from their mouths.

"Help! Somebody, please save us!"

"Waaah, don't eat me! Please, don't eat me... Ah!"

"Quit screaming! Save your strength and run!"

"Hang in there, everyone! Keep your torches ready, and the photos! I heard that super-powerful maniac is on his way to B City. Most of the Mycelium Monsters have already run off. As long as we hold out, we'll make it!"

"I'm so tired. I can't run anymore. I want to pass out. Can't I just faint first...? I'm really going to die of exhaustion..."

"I want to pass out too. I heard that if the red-eyed maniac knocks you out, you get an invincibility buff for a while. Neither the mycelium nor the Fungus Monsters can get near you, and when you wake up, you'll have recovered some strength!"

"Damn it, you'll be safe once you pass out, but what are the rest of us supposed to do?!"

Vast stretches of white mycelium surged toward the crowd like a tidal wave. Mycelium Monsters hid beneath it, moving freely through the streets and alleys. A man accidentally tripped and fell, sending the torch in his hand flying. As screams rang out, the mycelium swept over him and devoured him. Within seconds, his struggles grew weaker and weaker, until he stopped moving altogether. Not even a scrap of his clothes remained...

The white mycelium swept through as if the place were empty. This brief incident did nothing to slow it down; it continued its frenzied pursuit of the survivors fleeing ahead...
