Although Tony's head was filled with question marks and he desperately wanted to turn back to check on that "soccer kid," the communication audio coming through his mask quickly pulled his attention back to the battlefield.
"Stark, we need your support at Sixth Avenue! Another alien troop carrier has appeared there!"
"Copy that, I'm on my way!"
Hearing the prompt from Hawkeye Clint Barton, Tony didn't hesitate for a second; he immediately turned and flew toward Sixth Avenue.
However, the communication in his ear didn't end, and seeing him move, Hawkeye took the initiative to ask, "Tell me, what was that streak of light just now? A new feature of your armor? It looked pretty powerful!"
"Hey, Robin Hood, keep your attention on your battlefield surveillance!"
Hearing Hawkeye showing interest in that flashy attack, Tony chose not to answer the question directly.
It wasn't that the great Stark wanted to claim the "credit" for himself.
It was simply that, recalling the "pencil-case boy's" clearly youthful appearance, it was obvious he wasn't very old.
Tony Stark didn't want to drag the kid into this "war."
Even if the boy might be helpful in dealing with other alien warships.
Besides, especially with Clint Barton being an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was even more impossible for him to be explicit about it.
Back in the room with the hole in the wall.
Watching the Iron Man armor's thrusters flare as he sped away, Luca wasn't particularly surprised.
After all, Manhattan was crawling with invading Chitauri, and a major combatant like Tony Stark shouldn't have much time to worry about the minor anomalies of a passerby like him.
Instead of focusing on Tony Stark's departure, Luca was more concerned with the Power-Enhancing Shoes he had synthesized only a short while ago.
He turned off the dial at his ankle and moved his right foot, which had suddenly lost its sense of power.
Far from suffering any recoil injuries from that powerful kick, Luca didn't even feel the muscle soreness that usually comes from overexertion.
"It really is a 'Conan-science' gadget... That visual effect, tsk tsk—it truly lives up to its reputation as the go-to show-off artifact in the detective kid's movies!"
In fact, it wasn't just the power and the protection for his legs.
Logically, with the force of Luca's kick, even if he hadn't been injured by the recoil, his left foot—which hadn't received any "electric acupuncture" enhancement—shouldn't have been enough to support him while standing firmly in place during a volley shot.
Yet, in reality, Luca's left leg hadn't felt any pressure beyond its limits during that kick.
It was as if he had simply performed a standard soccer shot.
What was even more absurd was that Luca was never a soccer enthusiast.
Forget hitting a target accurately from hundreds of meters away; he wouldn't even dare claim a hundred percent accuracy on an open goal from ten meters out.
This instantly reminded Luca of the panel description when he synthesized the Power-Enhancing Shoes.
"Immense power without hurting the feet, hits the mark every time without hurting people?"
"Conan does seem to only ever knock people unconscious, no matter how hard the object he kicks is or how much power he uses, right?"
"Looks like I need to pay more attention to the item descriptions on the panel in the future."
It was a pity that once an item was synthesized, even Luca couldn't see the panel information anymore. He would have to wait until he obtained other "core components" to consider researching his golden finger.
Putting these thoughts aside for the moment, Luca glanced at the battle situation outside and immediately turned back.
He had originally intended to discuss with his mother, Gina, whether they should hide in the storage room they had mentioned earlier or go out to seek refuge.
After all, they didn't live on the ground floor; if another Leviathan warship crashed into the building and caused a collapse, even the sturdiest storage room wouldn't be able to protect them.
However, after turning around, he discovered that Gina had collapsed on the floor at some point, and the high-tech pistol she had been holding had fallen to the ground as well.
He rushed to Gina's side in two or three strides and reached out to check her breath.
"Breathing is steady, heartbeat and pulse are normal, no obvious head trauma, and the cervical spine seems fine."
After a moment of thought, Luca pried open Gina's eyelids to confirm that her pupillary light reflex was also normal.
She must have just fainted, and Luca breathed a small sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness!"
Luca had previously lamented that, at least since arriving in this world, he still had both parents.
If he had become an orphan due to an accident just days after transmigrating, he really would have started to doubt his own fate.
It's just... thinking about the series of experiences from his previous life...
"Better to keep the living safe first!"
With that in mind, Luca recalled the original owner's memories and quickly dug out the medical kit kept in the house.
Fortunately, the kit was intact and its contents were undamaged, so he immediately performed some simple bandaging on his mother.
However, even the pain stimulus from the bandaging, combined with several safe methods Luca tried to wake her, failed to bring Gina back to consciousness.
For a moment, he didn't know how to proceed with the medical treatment.
On one hand, his limited first-aid knowledge made it impossible to determine the specific cause of the coma, and he feared causing secondary injuries.
On the other hand, given the current situation outside, it was unlikely he could seek any rescue, so he might as well just wait here honestly.
"If I recall correctly, this Chitauri invasion event shouldn't last too long. Whether you can hold out until professional medical help arrives will just have to depend on your own luck."
Luca shook his head helplessly.
After finishing everything he could possibly do, he suddenly remembered something.
The experimental pistol his mother had used earlier seemed to emit the same faint white light characteristic of a "core component."
He scanned his surroundings, picked up the pistol he had forgotten to the side, and a pale blue panel immediately popped up above the firearm.
