A milky-white cube formed between his palms, then shot toward Madara Uchiha like a beam of light.
Standing inside Susanoo, Madara Uchiha watched the milky-white beam hurtle toward him. He raised an arm almost perfunctorily and let the beam strike Susanoo's palm.
The instant the beam touched Susanoo's surface, the blue chakra barrier let out an ear-piercing hiss. The sharply edged white energy frantically dismantled everything it touched.
Susanoo's hand rapidly dissolved under the beam's impact. Starting from the palm, its fingers vanished one after another, and the dismantling force spread along its wrist toward its arm.
Madara Uchiha's brow rose almost imperceptibly.
He glanced down at Susanoo's disintegrating arm, then at the milky-white beam still advancing. A trace of surprise finally appeared in his purple Rinnegan.
"Not bad."
He offered that quiet assessment, then shifted slightly to one side.
The beam continued along the path of the arm. After piercing halfway through the forearm, it swept past Madara Uchiha, dismantling half his body along with some of the tree vines behind him.
"All right! It punched through!"
Seeing that the attack had worked, Naruto immediately leaped up from the ground and pumped his arms in celebration.
His voice brimmed with excitement, as though victory was already within sight.
Tsunade, however, felt no joy at all.
Her gaze remained fixed on the slowly regenerating half of Madara Uchiha's body. Her pupils abruptly contracted when she saw the white outline taking shape.
"That's..."
The words caught in her throat. Shock and disbelief appeared on her normally composed face.
"Grandpa's face..."
Hearing her cry, the others followed her gaze toward Madara Uchiha's chest.
