"Hehe..."
"Sisi, I am about to strike it rich. Yesterday, I..."
"What! You awakened a god-level martial soul?"
Su Yuntao nodded excitedly, recounting the awakening process and how he had asked Ma Xiunuo to submit the report.
He looked at Sisi with excitement, certain that her attitude toward him would change significantly now.
"You really are amazing. I'll be waiting for your good news, then," Sisi praised him.
Her eyes flickered as she secretly decided to find an opportunity to ask Ma Xiunuo for the truth; she certainly did not want the position of Hall Master to fall into Su Yuntao's hands.
She believed that with her charm, that old lecher Ma Xiunuo would help her without hesitation.
After Sisi and Su Yuntao left, Ma Xiunuo quietly emerged, donned a black cloak, and slipped out through the back door of Spirit Hall.
Half an hour later, he arrived at an ordinary-looking small restaurant and walked up to the front desk attendant.
"Hello, I am from the Human World and wish to take a walk through hell," Ma Xiunuo said, his voice somewhat hoarse.
The attendant's expression shifted, and he hurriedly stepped out. "This way, honored guest."
Ma Xiunuo nodded and followed the attendant into a private room.
The attendant pressed a spot on the wall, and a hidden door instantly appeared. The two of them stepped inside.
"I want to see your Chief Helmsman," Ma Xiunuo's voice echoed in the dim underground corridor as he produced a token.
The attendant looked respectful and led Ma Xiunuo to a room. "Please wait here for a moment; I will go notify the Helmsman."
Ma Xiunuo sat down naturally. He had been to this place many times before; he was not a stranger to it, nor did he feel any fear.
Half an hour later, Ma Xiunuo walked out of the restaurant. Inside that underground room sat a tall, middle-aged man.
He sat there quietly, wearing a hideous Asura Mask. A blood-red aura swirled around him, his presence imposing.
On the table in front of him lay a file.
"Kill a six-year-old child? Stage an accidental death? Holy Soul Village... Then, let's arrange for a Bronze Medal Envoy to go."
A Bronze Medal Envoy was more than enough to deal with a hundred ordinary adults, let alone a mere child.
"Wuming!" the middle-aged man called out.
A moment later, a youth with black hair and black eyes walked in. He had an ordinary appearance, a thin frame, and a cold expression. His fingers were long and slender with prominent knuckles, appearing quite powerful.
His eyes were exceptionally indifferent, devoid of emotion or life.
"Foster father." The youth's voice was cold, causing the middle-aged man to frown.
"How many times must I tell you? When executing a mission, you are an assassin; in daily life, you are an ordinary person. You must learn to disguise your emotions."
The youth did not speak, merely nodding indifferently, which left the middle-aged man feeling somewhat helpless.
He tossed the file in his hand toward him. "This is your mission. Complete it within three days."
