Whew, after the opening arc, the Medical Field portion of the North America arc was finally finished. It actually took two months (too ashamed to show my face).

A huge stretch of plot had come to an end, and with the last two days of the month upon us...

Yeah, it totally made me want to just loaf around (my brain was blankly drifting in idiot mode).

But honestly, it was finally done. This whole section had to introduce the Medical Field, set up the crisis, develop the plot, design the battle scenes, build up the hype—and along the way, arrange where everything happened. I mean, if you came to North America and didn't use the Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop, wouldn't that be a waste?

All of that was pretty headache-inducing, but it was still manageable.

The damn hardest part was the Medical Field: hospitals, organ transplants, the Faceless Men type, a terminally ill little girl...

Linking all those deeper elements together and advancing them layer by layer, then using these two "Night Thoughts" chapters to connect with that immortal's line from the Midnight chapter in the previous arc, completing an important Main Quest advancement and bringing out certain major themes...

Honestly, I had no idea how many brain cells it cost me. I could say I wracked my brains to come up with all those elements out of thin air.

Ha, it was so hard. It was seriously too hard for a useless couch potato like me (covering my face and laughing through tears).

After finishing that chapter the day before yesterday, I felt completely liberated, filled with a sense of freedom.

I practically wanted to shout, "It's finally fucking done!"

Yeah.

And then I fell into a panic over what to write next.

(Sob.)

Finally, time
