"Young Master, is something wrong?"
"Nothing. I was just thinking that you businesspeople really are shrewd."
Seeing Adeline ask why he looked the way he did, Fang Ran merely looked at her and honestly voiced his thoughts. At the same time, he felt slightly embarrassed that the only solution he had thought of was picking a fight.
It made him feel like he had come out inferior in terms of intelligence, like his brain was not working very well.
"For a long-term crisis involving the supply of raw materials, the only way to resolve it completely is to leverage Nevernight Palace's influence."
"After all, we have not always had your help, Young Master."
"Even if we did, we could not keep wasting your power on every oil tanker shipment."
After clearly and calmly expressing her view and explaining the Energy Domain's current situation, Adeline looked at Fang Ran again.
"Young Master, is there anything else you would like to ask?"
"No, I understand the severity of the Energy Domain crisis and the general situation now."
As the elevator continued descending, Fang Ran looked through the glass at the busy scenes of headquarters employees on every floor and asked with a relieved sigh:
"Just asking, what was the matter I was originally supposed to handle?"
"Before the signing meeting, you were to meet with the owners of other energy companies, gauge their attitudes, and ensure the agreement could be signed smoothly. It was a series of Executive Officer duties."
Explaining Fang Ran's original assignment, Adeline answered with no emotion visible on her cold, calm face:
"However, now that the contract has been stolen, every itinerary I originally arranged for you, Young Master, has been ruined."
They had sent someone to ambush headquarters and steal important documents while he was at sea.
