Huh?
You had already celebrated your birthday a month before being awarded your degree?
How was that any different from getting a PhD at twenty?!
Hearing Klim say that, Fang Ran and Tang Bing both froze with meme-like looks of utter confusion.
Fang Ran remembered looking it up out of curiosity before. Most Harvard PhDs took five years, and even the most gifted students needed at least three.
Even if he started at the earliest possible age of seventeen—no, eighteen—there was still a master's degree before that.
)ΩДΩ(When the hell did you even go to college!?
His face was full of existential doubt. He could not believe someone this extraordinary actually existed, much less stood right in front of him. Why was there such an enormous gap in intelligence between people?
Tang Bing, who had always thought she was at least a little outstanding, felt like she had spent all these years living like a dog.
Fang Ran, who knew nothing about any of that and had merely been shocked by the literal fact, still refused to accept reality. Sweating awkwardly, he forced himself to ask:
"How many nines are there between one and a hundred?"
Having no idea what profound meaning lay behind that sudden "objective fact," Klim hesitated before cautiously answering in a soft voice:
"Uh... twenty?"
Then Fang Ran froze and lowered his head, starting to count on his fingers.
"Senior, even though only knowing the wrong answer is incredibly dumb, you really do look charming when you count on your fingers."
Tang Bing, leaning against the seatback and watching the scene, muttered speechlessly. Then, after Fang Ran finally counted them and confirmed there really were twenty, he looked at Klim and clutched his head in shock at the confirmation that he truly had a Harvard PhD.
