In April, over the past month, I had just finished writing the third phase of this volume's plot.

Honestly, the process had felt difficult.

Compared to the first and second phases, whose content had already been thoroughly planned out, the Mentor Base section required me to resolve a huge number of plot arrangements and foreshadowing details. It had left me racking my brains.

On top of that, I had been stuck in writer's block and sitting for long stretches, seven or eight hours at a time. Most days, I did not update until nine or ten at night. Some time ago, my lower back truly could not take the sitting anymore.

That made it even harder for me to write when I was already stuck.

One thing that made me feel awful was that I took a total of six days off last month, mostly because of writer's block. As I recalled, only one of those days had been spent playing around.

And yet I still had not written as many words, or as smoothly, as I had during those months when I slacked off for seven or eight days.

What felt even worse was that the word count was the same as when I went to Hohhot to take the civil service exam and took fourteen days off.

Too slow. It was truly too slow. Even I could not stand it anymore.

Maybe my mindset had changed since college. And it was true that the further I got, the harder it became to write. Wanting to account for every possible effect made each chapter exhausting to write.

With no friends around and being cooped up at home all day, I did not have as much inspiration as I did in college. If I wanted to write it as well
