A wisp of black smoke fled out from the sedan.
It manifested as a middle-aged Daoist with a cold, stern face and a sinister air.
Zhu Yu studied the dark-red stones on the barren hill, a strange look surfacing in his eyes. "This mountain..." After thinking for a moment, he released a thread of his aura.
A few breaths later.
The surroundings suddenly grew somewhat oppressive. The flow of Gui energy seemed to slow as well, and strands of black qi surged out from the cracks in the hill. Gradually, a terrifying pressure spread outward.
The two child attendants shuddered, their eyes rolled back, and they fainted onto the ground.
Bang, bang...
Black qi churned, and a yin wind howled.
Accompanied by the sound of heavy footsteps, a stone man less than three feet tall, black and red from head to toe, manifested.
Though the stone man was small, its features were exquisitely humanlike. Its limbs and torso were engraved with intricate, magnificent, delicate patterns that seemed innate, and astonishing Gui power flowed through them.
The strange look in Zhu Yu's eyes deepened. He cupped his hands and said, "Qingyangzi of Qingyang Temple greets Brother Gui."
The stone man raised its head, its humanlike face staring at him. It did not speak, but its gradually rising aura showed that it did not like Zhu Yu. It even seemed to loathe him somewhat.
"I take my leave."
Sensing the pressure around him growing heavier and heavier, Zhu Yu wasted no words. He cupped his hands in a salute, turned, and stepped into the sedan.
The child attendants who had collapsed unconscious rolled to their feet and, without saying a word, hoisted up the sedan and vanished like a puff of smoke.
