The System

[ Ding! Congratulations, host! You have completed the achievement: Taking Over a Body on the Night of the Uchiha Clan Massacre! You have successfully awakened one Visualized Stat-Point System. Would you like to activate the system now? ]

The system's notification rang in his mind, and Sasuke smiled.

Not caring whether anyone nearby might be listening, he spoke directly into the empty space before him:

"Activate the system now!..."

[ Ding! System activated! Congratulations, host! You can now check your training progress at any time with a thought.]

"Nice. This is more like it..."

Sasuke nodded and slowly got to his feet.

He didn't rush to inspect his cheat system in the rain. Instead, he went home first and changed into clean clothes.

He also grabbed some necessary daily supplies before finally settling down.

The stench of blood kept drifting into his nostrils, mingling with the distinctive scent of plants and trees after the rain. It was jarringly out of place.

After picking up a few things, Sasuke didn't dare go back into the house, which was filled with corpses.

Forcing down his discomfort, he calmly took shelter beneath the eaves.

At the same time, he focused his thoughts, and the system interface appeared before him in a highly intuitive display:

Name: Uchiha Sasuke.

Faction: Land of Fire, Konoha Hidden Village.

Level: 2 (12/400).

Stat Points: 2 (Note: Used to directly improve the system user's attributes.)

Skill Points: 2 (Note: Used to directly improve the system user's skill levels.)

Attribute Bar, Skill Bar...

Seeing this, Sasuke realized that the Attribute Bar and Skill Bar were probably collapsed.

With a thought, he opened both bars, revealing an entirely new view before his eyes:

Attribute Bar: Constitution: 5. Agility: 4. Intelligence: 1. Charisma: 9.

Sasuke stared, stunned.

Constitution was probably related to chakra reserves. Everyone knew the Uchiha had low chakra, so he could accept that.

Agility was probably related to Taijutsu. He was still a child and hadn't fully developed, so he could let that slide.

But Intelligence: 1... What the hell was that supposed to mean?

Was the original Sasuke, whose body he'd taken over, some kind of idiot?

At the thought, Sasuke's mouth twitched, and he muttered to himself:

"No wonder they call him Two-Tomoe Sasuke. That Intelligence stat is painfully accurate..."

But then Sasuke thought it over and smiled again:

"I'm still young, and my Charisma is already nine. Looks like I'm handsome, at least. As for being an idiot, now that I have a system, I can make up for that later!..."

After checking the Attribute Bar, Sasuke turned his attention to the Skill Bar:

[Substitution Technique: Level 1.]

[Transformation Technique: Level 1.]

[Clone Technique: Level 1.]

[Chakra Control: Level 1.]

[Taijutsu: Level 1.]

[Genjutsu: Level 2.]

[Shurikenjutsu: Level 2.]

"The Three Body Techniques are all Level 1, but Genjutsu is Level 2. That must have something to do with the achievement I just unlocked for awakening the Sharingan."

"As for Shurikenjutsu, I'm guessing it's because I used to hunt with Itachi?..."

Just then, Sasuke noticed a line of tiny text had appeared at the bottom right of the system.

Curious, he focused his thoughts. The next moment, the line of text changed slightly:

(Note: Levels 1–2 are roughly equivalent to Genin, 3–4 to Chunin, 5–6 to Jonin, 7–8 to Kage Level, and 9–10 are comparable to the Six Paths...)

"Whoa! I almost missed the most important part!"

"This system hid such an important reference guide in a corner. Was it afraid I'd get upset when I saw it?..."

Sasuke gritted his teeth, but the system ignored his anger.

In a flash, he put the earlier annoyance behind him. Looking at the note before him, he felt his blood surge with excitement:

"Levels 9–10 are Six Paths level. Now that I have this visualized system and a massive information advantage from crossing over, is the day I rule the Shinobi World really that far off?..."

"Ha ha ha..."

At the thought, Sasuke sprang to his feet and threw his head back, laughing like a madman.

Though the scene looked completely out of place, Sasuke could no longer contain his excitement.

He had crossed over from Earth.

Before this, he'd never dreamed that he'd be watching Naruto at home, only to cross over with a system for no apparent reason!

Even more bizarre, the first system mission he received was to take over the body of young Sasuke in this Shinobi World!

And it had happened on the night of the Uchiha Clan Massacre, no less!

The most ridiculous part was that his real name on Earth was also Sasuke!

Actually, he'd discussed his name with his family before.

He only remembered that his father had originally wanted to name him Zuo Ritian, meaning "the sun at its zenith."

But that day, he heard that his grandmother had consulted a feng shui master, who said he lacked good karma and needed to do plenty of good deeds and help others in this life.

And so his name had changed from Zuo Ritian to Sasuke.

Back in school, his name had earned him plenty of mockery from his classmates, who nicknamed him Two-Tomoe.

The funny thing was, after crossing into the Naruto world, he'd really become Two-Tomoe by some strange twist of fate!

"Was all of this really just a coincidence?..."

Sasuke didn't know.

But as he gazed at the system panel projected in the air, a delighted smile tugged at his lips.

He knew none of it mattered anymore.

What mattered was that he would make a name for himself in the Shinobi World.

And the entire Shinobi World would become infinitely more exciting with the arrival of this brand-new Sasuke!

After a bout of self-indulgent daydreaming, Sasuke reined in his excitement and looked at the Achievement section at the very bottom.

[Achievement: Taking Over a Body. (1/∞).]

[Achievement Reward: +1 (Unclaimed).]

"Can achievements be unlocked endlessly, and do they grant system rewards?..."

Looking at the infinity symbol beside the achievement, Sasuke felt as if he might melt if he stared at it any longer.

Without hesitation, he shouted into the empty space again:

"System, unlock the achievement reward!"

[ Ding! Achievement reward claimed! Congratulations, host! You have obtained: Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique! ]

"That's more like it..."

Sasuke wasn't surprised to get the Great Fireball Technique. After all, it was the Uchiha Clan's signature ability.

It just never seemed to kill anyone, which was a real pain in the ass...

"Looks like it's time to leave. I'm sure Konoha will send people here to take stock of things tomorrow morning..."

Before he knew it, Sasuke had stayed up all night.

As dawn broke on the horizon, he stopped dawdling, turned around, and began moving from house to house throughout the Uchiha Clan compound.

Sasuke was thinking clearly.

The Uchiha Clan had been wiped out overnight, which meant that from this moment on, he was a child with no one to rely on.

So right now, he could only rely on himself.

And as someone who'd dropped in from Earth, he wasn't the chuunibyou version of Two-Tomoe.

He understood one cruel but practical truth:

You couldn't get by without money!

The same went for ninjas!

"Heh, this much money should be enough to get me out of Konoha's newbie village..."

After looting the place, a satisfied smile appeared on Sasuke's young face.

He bent forward slightly, a person-tall burlap sack slung over his back. Step by step, he vanished into the morning mist while the sky was still dark.
