He had long known that the five Divine Creatures composing the Holy Light Divine Kingdom all had certain flaws and were not complete beings. This was his first contact with their secrets.
Charlotte shook the bronze bell in his room and summoned a Great Ling Demon. She was dressed flamboyantly, like one of those peak-attractiveness cosplayers found everywhere at conventions. Charlotte had her prepare some food for him. He had been busy all night and had entered another space besides; his physical strength had been greatly depleted, and he desperately needed to replenish his energy.
In terms of intelligence, personality, speech, and mannerisms, Great Ling Demons were no different from ordinary humans. They could even explore the path of Transcendence and possess transcendent abilities. On the Holy Light Divine Kingdom, it was impossible to avoid dealing with them, and there was often a need for battles at the level of evil gods, so Charlotte had them serve as crew members. So far, the Great Ling Demons had proven highly competent.
The Great Ling Demon swayed away gracefully. As Charlotte watched her retreating figure, a thought suddenly occurred to him: were Great Ling Demons becoming a little too widespread?
"I need to control and restrict the range of their activities. In the future, aside from Hot Spring Mountain and Mecklen University, I'll open at most another three to five places where Great Ling Demons can provide limited services. They'll be prohibited everywhere else."

Charlotte could sense that the Holy Light Divine Kingdom was constantly growing stronger. The other Divine Creatures had not shown much yet, but Dapochilodo's changes were extremely obvious.
