After Archpriest Augsladin left, Charlotte immediately set out as well. It was only when the camp was made that night that he abruptly discovered an extra person in the group: Belisa, Duchess Joseph's personal maid.
Anastasia gathered her courage and said, "The Duchess is dead. There's no one left to protect Sister Belisa. If she stayed in Mostarburg, some noble might take possession of her, so she followed us when we left."
Charlotte had wanted to ask, "Aren't you afraid I'll take possession of her?" But the joke felt pointless and far too crude.
Belisa might have been somewhat naive, but she was by no means stupid. She understood perfectly well that her position had depended entirely on the Duchess. Now that the Duchess had been killed by Hughes, she was nothing more than a plaything, liable to fall into miserable circumstances at any moment. Thus, upon learning of the Duchess's death, she decisively chose not to return to Mostarburg and instead remained with Anastasia. Anastasia sympathized with the maid and boldly brought her along.
Charlotte stared at Belisa for a full seven minutes before saying, "My Knight Order doesn't support idle freeloaders."
Belisa puffed out her small chest and said, "I'm Transcendent too!"
Charlotte was startled. He truly had not noticed, and asked, "You're a Transcendent as well?"
Belisa said rather proudly, "I taught myself Gorgia University's courses."
"I... don't have the talent for Dream Walker, nor do I have talent for Card Magic. I always wanted to be as free as a bird, so I chose Sky Glider. I'm now a second-rank Sky Glider and can glide down from more than ten meters in the air."
"Well, actually, a little higher is fine too."
As she said this, Belisa's little face reddened again.
Charlotte knew about Sky Glider.
