On the Old Continent, dating was not a convenient affair.

After all, this was a world without telephones or the internet.

Each time, either Anne waited outside Kilmainham Prison, or Charlotte went to Gorgia University to find her.

Honestly, in all the years since graduation, Charlotte had gone to Gorgia University far more often than he had returned to his alma mater, Sheffield University.

Charlotte sat in "his own" carriage, gazing at the scenery of Strasbourg with mixed feelings. Before, he had always thought the roads built by this ancient nation were absurdly wide, even wider than many roads on Earth. But at this moment, he realized that without such broad roads, carriages simply could not get around, especially luxurious four-wheeled carriages.

Though this thing was only two Pimi wide, it was much longer than private sedans or SUVs on Earth. The cabin itself was only slightly larger, but there were also the horses pulling it. Add in the carriage's turning radius, and it was far less maneuverable than modern vehicles enhanced by all kinds of technology. Without such wide roads, there were many places a carriage simply could not travel.

What was more, the Old Continent of this world, including the five great empires, likely had fewer than a hundred million people combined, yet its territory vastly surpassed Earth's Europe, probably as vast as Europe and Africa combined.

There were many nobles in Strasbourg's Upper Seven Districts. The mansions of many great nobles were enormous, with a single family occupying an entire block. Every mansion was built as beautifully as a garden, and the scenery along the way was quite pleasant.

After entering Val-d'Oise District, the buildings generally became taller. Though the Upper Seven Districts stood on equal footing, Val-d'Oise District was clearly more special than the other six.
