Ch. 281The "Hive" of Pure Malice

Charlotte tested the Crystal Bottle and Bag of Insects aboard the Queen Bee, discovering that the warship was powered by a hive of immense malice and that its pirates sacrificed slaves to appease its monstrous queen. After learning the Queen Bee had been built on the Old Continent and was secretly connected to Inglima’s navy, he decided to visit Briton while Golden Goat Herolf was away.

  • Charlotte killed the Mirror Spirit, took control of its Mirror World, and collected the Crystal Bottle and Bag of Insects from Machu Picchu.
  • Charlotte released a black insect aboard the Queen Bee and followed it into a dark lower hold filled with malice and countless Queen Bees.
  • Charlotte used the Bag of Insects to collect Queen Bees, provoking a giant queen creature that attacked the sealed deck; pirates later sacrificed slaves to quiet it.
  • Charlotte spent several days taking control of the Queen Bee’s porthole Mirror Worlds and discovered scenes showing the warship’s construction on the Old Continent.
  • The Queen Bee docked at a military port near Briton, where Charlotte learned that Inglima’s Royal Navy had ties to the Golden Goat pirates.
  • Charlotte learned Golden Goat Herolf was not aboard and decided to visit Briton to see old friends.

Ch. 282Princess Mei's "New Carriage"

Charlotte returned to Britannia and recruited Archpriest Augsladin to help seize a pirate Ancient Magic Warship, then learned that Princess Mei could protect the ship from powerful claimants. The chapter left Charlotte considering the offer as Princess Mei explained why he could not keep the warship without her backing.

  • Charlotte visited Archpriest Augsladin and told him about a pirate Ancient Magic Warship, and the Archpriest agreed to help if Charlotte found another Saint Rank.
  • Archpriest Augsladin revealed that Charlotte had been promoted and that the Emperor had promoted him because he won Princess Mei's favor.
  • Charlotte visited Princess Mei and asked for help taking the Queen Bee, but she explained that its Golden Ring would let Golden Goat Herolf summon it back to Saint Michael's Island.
  • Charlotte showed Princess Mei the Crystal Bottle, and she exchanged it for the ring that stored Dark Luxury.
  • Princess Mei told Charlotte that he could not keep the Queen Bee without her name protecting it from powerful rivals.

Ch. 283Saint Michael's Island Was in for a Blessing

Princess Mei used the Crystal Bottle to seal the Queen Bee, but the warship still lacked the Golden Ring needed to control it. She sent Charlotte to Saint Michael's Island with Archpriest Augsladin to obtain the three Golden Rings.

  • Princess Mei explained that the Crystal Bottle bore the Sherlock royal insignia and was designed to contain the Queen Bee.
  • Princess Mei and Archpriest Augsladin flew with Charlotte to the naval port, where she sealed the Queen Bee inside the Crystal Bottle.
  • Archpriest Augsladin said the Queen Bee's pirates had voluntarily become one with the warship and warned that it still sought its master without the Golden Ring.
  • Princess Mei ordered Charlotte to return to Saint Michael's Island and find a way to obtain the three Golden Rings, with Archpriest Augsladin accompanying him.

Ch. 284Princess Mei's New Ride

Charlotte woke in Briton and found Princess Mei’s newly received warship, the Queen Bee, moored on the River Severn under military guard. After Ban Lamorak arrived, he told Charlotte that the Red Dragon Palace had ordered him to follow Charlotte’s command, leaving Charlotte with a powerful new ally for the mission to Saint Michael’s Island.

  • Charlotte saw the Queen Bee surrounded by warships, troops, and three Saint Ranks, while envoys from the Red Dragon Palace dispersed most of the force and left soldiers for Princess Mei.
  • Charlotte visited Ban Lamorak at the military camp and explained that he had arrived aboard the Queen Bee and would leave soon.
  • Ban Lamorak reflected on rumors about Charlotte and Princess Mei, and on the Queen Bee being Charlotte’s gift to her.
  • Ban Lamorak told Charlotte that the Red Dragon Palace had ordered him to follow Charlotte’s command.

Ch. 285Mr. Roger Otta Rivers Changed His Surname to Guillaume

Charlotte received Emperor Alfred Guillaume’s praise and a demand to write a novel about the Red Dragon Emperor, while Sophia Garland’s remarks about Charlotte’s duel with Ban Lamorak sparked sensational rumors in Strasbourg. The gossip spread through noble circles and reached Anne Brittany.

  • Charlotte learned that Ban Lamorak would help attack the Golden Goat Pirate Group on Saint Michael’s Island, then met Emperor Alfred Guillaume, who later sent him a letter praising his novels and offering land for a Red Dragon Emperor story.
  • Charlotte decided to base his new novel on Mr. Roger Otta Rivers and have him change his surname to Guillaume, but postponed writing until his clerk team returned.
  • At a Garlanden family ball, young nobles asked Sophia Garland to display her Transcendence lance, and she revealed that she had borrowed Whale Slayer from a friend who had defeated Ban Lamorak.
  • Sophia’s account of the duel led nobles to imagine Charlotte had won Ban Lamorak’s inherited lance for her, and the rumor spread across Strasbourg, eclipsing news of the war in Ferlanden.
  • Anne Brittany heard the gossip about Charlotte and Sophia.

Ch. 286The Gunslinger Miss Returns to Action

Anne Brittany paid the side-story writer to expand The Legend of Charlotte, while Charlotte returned to Saint Michael’s Island with new promotions and a force of elite warriors. There, Ban Lamorak killed the pirate Anglerfish, and Charlotte persuaded him to postpone wiping out the island’s pirates and build their strength first.

  • Anne Brittany hired the side-story writer to add a plotline to The Legend of Charlotte and imagined reclaiming Whale Slayer from Sophia Garland.
  • Charlotte received documents promoting him and appointing him civil affairs officer of Cappadocia City and Saint Michael City.
  • Charlotte returned to Saint Michael’s Island with Archpriest Augsladin, Ban Lamorak, and nearly three hundred elite warriors, where he learned that Anglerfish had taken over his forces and residence.
  • Ban Lamorak burst into Anglerfish’s quarters, found tortured young women, and killed the pirate with a single thrust.
  • Ban Lamorak said he wanted to kill every pirate on the island, but Charlotte promised he could do so later and urged him to build strength without calling on his father.

Ch. 287Saint Michael City Rebellion

Charlotte built up his forces among the Golden Goat pirates while Herolf searched for the missing Queen Bee. After Herolf sailed for Britannia, Charlotte launched a rebellion against the weakened Saint Michael City, backed by Archpriest Augsladin and Ban Lamorak.

  • Charlotte killed Anglerfish and took his men, earning the name Bear King Qian Nan among the pirates.
  • Herolf learned that the Queen Bee had been seen on the River Severn and left Saint Michael's Island with his fleet.
  • Charlotte sent word of Herolf's departure and prepared to seize Saint Michael City while its defenses were thin.
  • Five hours after Herolf sailed, Charlotte led his men toward the second level of the city and confronted its sole deputy commander.
  • Charlotte called on Archpriest Augsladin, who attacked the deputy commander with seven Arrows of Light.

Ch. 288We Must First Secure the Fruits of Victory

Charlotte’s rebel army defeated and absorbed the pirates on Saint Michael City’s lower levels, then stripped the city of its people and valuables rather than attack the palace barrier directly. He left the defenders isolated atop Mount Saint Michael, and the pirates watched the city below being emptied.

  • Archpriest Augsladin killed the pirate vice-captain with seven Arrows of Light, while Charlotte forced the surviving pirates to surrender and sent their leader’s wealth to Machu Picchu.
  • Ban Lamorak and Charlotte defeated the three pirate captains who charged from Saint Michael City, and Charlotte absorbed their followers.
  • Charlotte’s force reached the palace, but a protective barrier blocked their attack, so he ordered a retreat to the third level to secure the spoils of victory.
  • Charlotte swept the commercial district, sending its inhabitants into the Mirror World and its wealth and supplies to Machu Picchu.
  • Charlotte continued toward the barracks and warehouses on the fourth and fifth levels, while Archpriest Augsladin and Ban Lamorak realized he meant to empty Saint Michael City below the palace.

Ch. 289Golden Goat Returns

Charlotte evacuated the ships and slaves from Saint Michael's Island while Senior Menilman fought Golden Goat Herolf at sea. Herolf drove Menilman’s forces to retreat, leaving Charlotte’s fate unknown to Menilman.

  • Charlotte sent Ban Lamorak away with the captured ships and freed slaves, planning to send the island’s pirates to Machu Picchu and keep only an elite guard behind.
  • Charlotte and Archpriest Augsladin watched two fleets clash and discussed how the Magic Alchemical Warship strengthened Herolf.
  • Charlotte and Augsladin decided to retreat because Herolf would soon return to Saint Michael’s Island and its power would prevent Menilman from taking it.
  • Herolf unleashed the island’s power, forcing Menilman and the three Saint Rank fighters to withdraw.
  • Herolf warned Menilman not to covet Saint Michael’s Island, while Menilman wondered whether Charlotte had escaped.

Ch. 290Too Despicable, Too Shameless

Golden Goat Herolf returned to Saint Michael's Island after Menilman captured his fleet, only to discover that Charlotte Mecklen had already looted the island. After learning Charlotte was the thief who had taken the Queen Bee, Herolf swore revenge.

  • Menilman separated Herolf's Magic Alchemical Warship from his fleet and captured the more than twenty warships after Herolf rushed back to Saint Michael's Island.
  • Herolf found Saint Michael's Island deserted and learned that Charlotte had looted it while Menilman defeated the rest of his fleet.
  • The guards explained that Menilman had used Herolf's fear of leaving the island's protection to trap him and seize the fleet.
  • Herolf recognized Charlotte as the person who had stolen the Queen Bee and heard the bizarre rumors about Charlotte's exploits in Inglima.
  • Herolf cursed Charlotte as despicable and shameless and vowed to kill him.

Ch. 291I Still Believe in My Junior

Menilman returned to Cappadocia after ambushing Golden Goat Herolf and capturing more than twenty ships, while she continued to trust her junior’s claim that the Queen Bee had been taken. At Cappadocia, Archpriest Augsladin revealed that the ships gathered there were spoils from Saint Michael’s Island, and Sabastine mistook Charlotte for Menilman’s devoted admirer.

  • Menilman’s fleet reached 120 ships after three Saint Ranks ambushed Golden Goat Herolf and captured more than twenty of his warships.
  • Sabastine warned Menilman that Herolf might return with the Queen Bee, but Menilman said he no longer had it and reaffirmed her faith in her junior.
  • Menilman promised Sabastine her own fleet, and Sabastine became eager to return to Cappadocia.
  • The fleet found more than a hundred ships gathered outside Cappadocia, prompting Sabastine to suspect Herolf had tricked them and seized their base.
  • Archpriest Augsladin announced that the ships were spoils brought back from Saint Michael’s Island, while Charlotte celebrated the profits he had made.
  • Sabastine saw Charlotte and assumed he was a peerless hero devoted to Menilman.

Ch. 292The Undercover Mission Failed This Time, Senior

Charlotte returned from Saint Michael’s Island with Archpriest Augsladin, Ban Lamorak, and a vast fleet of surrendered pirates and freed slaves, though he had failed to find the captives or reach the rebels. Back in Cappadocia, Menilman and the others began absorbing the people and ships while Charlotte’s recruitment methods impressed those around him.

  • Charlotte gave Ban Lamorak ten warships and let him choose sailors, while pirates accepted his offer of residency and land in exchange for five years of service.
  • Charlotte rejoined Menilman’s fleet and reported that his undercover mission had failed to find the Golden Deputy Goat organization, the rebels, or the three Saint Rank captives.
  • Archpriest Augsladin revealed that the captured Golden Deputy Goat members had identified themselves and wanted to join Charlotte’s forces rather than return to Saint Michael’s Island.
  • Charlotte told Menilman he had brought back around eighty or ninety thousand people, and he met Sabastine, a Saint Rank female pirate, whom he nicknamed Wonder Woman.
  • The fleet arrived in Cappadocia, where Menilman, Domitian, and Sabastine worked to absorb the ships and newcomers while Charlotte’s methods for integrating surrendered forces impressed Archpriest Augsladin and Ban Lamorak.

Ch. 293A Very Simple Little Spell

Charlotte recruited the sailors into the West Wind Knight Regiment and used the Beast God Transformation Technique to build their strength and unity. As Menilman prepared to attack Saint Michael's Island, Domitian asked Charlotte how he would capture it, and Charlotte proposed using the simplest method.

  • Menilman selected sturdier sailors, and Charlotte recruited the group into the West Wind Knight Regiment and taught its members the Over-the-Back Red Bear Warrior Transformation.
  • Charlotte collected and openly shared cultivation advice, helping the mixed-background soldiers improve their physiques and develop a shared identity.
  • Menilman, Domitian, and Sabastine grew to respect Charlotte, while Menilman spent more than half a month reorganizing the fleet.
  • Menilman held several military meetings to plan an attack on Saint Michael's Island, while Charlotte considered when to return to the South Seraph Region.
  • Domitian asked Charlotte how he would capture Saint Michael's Island, and Charlotte said he would use the simplest method.

Ch. 294Come and Hit Me If You Can

After returning from Saint Michael's Island with over a hundred ships and tens of thousands of people, Charlotte proposed starving Golden Goat Herolf's forces into surrender. Menilman's fleet blockaded the island, and Charlotte's taunts enraged Herolf enough to make him vomit blood twice.

  • Charlotte explained that he had taken the food supplies from the six levels beneath Saint Michael's Island and urged Menilman to blockade it until Herolf's guards ran out of food.
  • Menilman ordered an immediate attack, and her fleet sealed off Saint Michael's Island, which had lost all but one Magic Alchemical Warship.
  • Herolf flew into the sky to send out the warship, but he backed down when he saw four Saint Ranks rise to oppose him.
  • Sabastine carried Charlotte into the air to trade insults with Herolf, and Charlotte taunted him about stealing his Queen Bee, people, and ships.
  • Herolf vomited blood and fell after Charlotte's first taunt, then vomited another mouthful when Charlotte called for him to come and hit him.

Ch. 295Non-Cannibal

Menilman’s group kept Golden Goat Herolf trapped on Saint Michael’s Island, where dwindling supplies drove the pirates to slaughter one another. After learning about the Non-Cannibal creed, Charlotte tried to persuade the pirates to flee, but Herolf answered with a Knight’s Lance that Sabastine caught.

  • Domitian ambushed Golden Goat Herolf, failed to land his strongest attack, and escaped before Herolf could catch him.
  • Menilman maintained the blockade around Saint Michael’s Island, and Herolf realized his people were running out of food.
  • Charlotte learned from Sabastine that Domitian followed the Non-Cannibal creed, which rejected eating people and called for civilized conduct.
  • Charlotte saw the pirates in Saint Michael City slaughtering one another and urged them to escape and abandon Herolf.
  • Herolf hurled a Knight’s Lance at Charlotte, but Sabastine caught it.

Ch. 296Charlotte Borrows a Sword

Charlotte and Sabastine escaped Golden Goat Herolf after tricking him into throwing away his rapier and injuring him with Sabastine’s attacks. Domitian recovered the High-Order magic rapier, and Charlotte ended up borrowing it while Herolf retreated to Saint Michael’s Island.

  • Charlotte baited Golden Goat Herolf into throwing his rapier, then escaped with Sabastine through the Mirror Gate.
  • Domitian chased down the rapier before it fell into the sea and recovered it.
  • Sabastine fired several Energy Bullets at Herolf and wounded him with a rapier thrust before escaping with Charlotte.
  • Charlotte could not activate the Mirror Gate as Herolf pursued them, so he distracted Herolf long enough for Sabastine to break free and reach Menilman, Domitian, and Archpriest Augsladin.
  • Domitian fought Herolf with the recovered rapier, then withdrew beyond the Saint Michael Holy Spirit’s range while Herolf stayed behind.
  • Charlotte taunted Herolf with his stolen rapier, then accepted it from Domitian to see whether he could use it.

Ch. 297Treading the Sea

Charlotte discovered that Treading the Sea could control seawater but rejected his combat energies, so he negotiated to trade it to Domitian. Domitian offered two rare volumes of “Labyrinth of Agmiras” and ancient paintings in exchange, while revealing that a labyrinth advanced beyond the fourth level could free its master from Agmilas’s control.

  • Sabastine explained Treading the Sea’s seawater-controlling power, and Charlotte found that Bloody Glory, Star War Qi, and Blood Flame Qi could not activate it.
  • Charlotte decided the rapier would be more useful in another Saint Rank’s hands, and Domitian offered to trade for it after hearing that Charlotte knew Bloodthirsty Battle Qi.
  • Domitian revealed that breaking a labyrinth through its fourth level could let its master escape Agmilas’s control, and offered Charlotte his sixteen-page and nine-page volumes of “Labyrinth of Agmiras.”
  • Charlotte claimed he already had a volume, prompting Domitian to offer both books; Charlotte then asked him to include his ancient paintings depicting Agmilas’s true form.
  • Domitian agreed to add the paintings and explained the difficulties of creating and maintaining labyrinthized cities.

Ch. 298Evil God Candidate

Charlotte used the Labyrinth of Agmiras to gain Palace of Mirrors, but the experiment made him an Evil God Candidate with ninety-nine labyrinths to master and a deadline of 133 days. After riding Sabastine’s giant whale, he spotted Golden Goat Herolf approaching and proposed they seize his Magic Alchemical Warship.

  • Domitian took Treading the Sea to test his new weapon, while Charlotte asked Sabastine to protect him during an experiment with the Labyrinth of Agmiras.
  • Charlotte combined the Labyrinth of Agmiras with Bloody Glory, gained Palace of Mirrors, and closed a passage before Agmilas could enter the real world.
  • Charlotte’s diary named him an Evil God Candidate, set him a task involving ninety-nine labyrinths, and gave him 133 days to complete it and challenge Agmilas.
  • Sabastine healed Charlotte and took him on a ride around Saint Michael’s Island aboard her contracted whale, Wellington Steak.
  • Golden Goat Herolf killed fleeing pirates in the sea, noticed Charlotte, and flew toward him; Charlotte suggested that he and Sabastine seize Herolf’s Magic Alchemical Warship.

Ch. 299Magic Ban Code

Charlotte and Sabastine seized Golden Goat Herolf’s Magic Alchemical Warship, and Charlotte used a memory reflected in the Infinite Mirror World to enter its Magic Ban Code. As Sabastine fought Herolf and the ship began responding to his control attempts, the chapter left its new ownership unresolved.

  • Charlotte told Sabastine to fly with him while Wellington Steak dove into the sea, then used the Mirror Gate to reach Saint Michael’s Island.
  • Sabastine killed the pirates guarding the Magic Alchemical Warship, and Charlotte boarded it and destroyed the Mirror Spirit by the bridge.
  • Charlotte used the Infinite Mirror World to find the original Fars captain entering the Magic Ban Code, then entered it himself and began identity verification with Bloody Glory.
  • Sabastine fought Golden Goat Herolf in the sky and kept him from reaching the ship while he tried to activate it and Holy Spirit Michael began to appear.
  • The Magic Alchemical Warship finally responded to Herolf’s latest attempt to activate it, and he declared that he would kill Charlotte and Sabastine.

Ch. 300From This Day Until Forever, It Shall Be Called the Imperial Rose

Charlotte drove the captured Magic Alchemical Warship out of Holy Spirit Michael’s force field while Sabastine and the other Saint Ranks held off Golden Goat Herolf. After reaching safety, Charlotte renamed the ship the Imperial Rose.

  • The Magic Array empowered Sabastine instead of Golden Goat Herolf, allowing her to wound him as Charlotte steered the warship toward Menilman’s flagship.
  • Golden Goat Herolf summoned Holy Spirit Michael, whose force field immobilized the warship, while Domitian and the other Saint Ranks came to Sabastine’s aid.
  • Sabastine used Magic Feather Arrows to drain Herolf’s battle qi as Domitian attacked with Treading the Sea, and Menilman and Archpriest Augsladin joined the fight.
  • Charlotte forced the warship forward while the four Saint Ranks shared the Holy Spirit’s pressure, and the ship broke free after about half an hour.
  • Charlotte announced that the warship’s former name was discarded and declared that it would be called the Imperial Rose from then on.
