Training the Dealer (2)

"Yafei, shuffle the cards more evenly. Don't send them flying."

"Taisi, very good. You controlled your strength perfectly."

"Liya, your points are the same as the guest's. The dealer wins."

"Xila, an Ace can count as either one or eleven. Don't miscalculate it."

"They will. As long as guests play a few rounds, they'll become addicted. Blackjack is tense and exciting, with many possibilities. Part of winning or losing lies in the guests' own hands, instead of merely waiting for the result after the dice cup is opened."

"I'll be the dealer. You girls can play a few rounds together."

"Sure."

"Let's try it."

The two female elves, Yafei and Liya, were eager to give their learning results a try.

With a smile, Li Yu picked up a deck of playing cards. After an elaborate shuffle, he neatly set the cards down.

He began dealing, giving everyone one card before dealing the last card to himself: the King of Spades. During the second deal, his final card was the Three of Hearts.

From left to right, the point totals were thirteen, fifteen, eighteen, and seven.

"I want another card." Yafei raised her hand.

"Are you sure? Aren't you afraid of busting?" Li Yu teased.

"Thirteen points is the same as the dealer's. If I don't take the risk, I'll lose."

"Alright."

Li Yu drew a card and lightly tossed it in front of Yafei.

It was the Queen of Clubs, putting her over twenty-one.

"Bust." Li Yu collected the cards in front of Yafei.

Yafei sighed.

"What about the rest of you?"

"Our totals are all higher than yours. We don't want any more cards."

Those were Liya and Taisi's hands, with fifteen and eighteen points.

Li Yu turned his gaze to Xila, who had seven points.

"I want one."
