Uchiha Kurohane immediately used his crow's Byakugan to look underground, wanting to see what Nawaki was up to.

Since the Byakugan could see through solid objects, he could see Nawaki perfectly clearly even underground.

Uchiha Kurohane soon discovered that Nawaki was swimming straight toward him beneath the earth.

He had gone through all that trouble just to grab his feet?

Uzumaki Mito and Kushina Uzumaki could not understand it either. They looked equally bewildered.

Nawaki's original body proudly explained it to them.

"This is what Jiraiya taught me. I don't know why, but he can escape the Swamp of the Underworld. So I'll grab his feet with both hands and make sure he can't get away!"
