"League of Legends System?"
The moment Ryōken finished speaking, a translucent blue screen appeared out of thin air before him.
Host: Ryōken Talent: None Skills: None Strength Level: Unranked Items: One Beginner's Pack
As he looked over the lines of information, Ryōken gradually calmed down.
Perhaps sensing his confusion, a flood of information suddenly appeared in his mind.
In an instant, Ryōken understood the origin of this system.
In his previous life, League of Legends had been the hottest game. Though Ryōken had not been particularly skilled at it, he had loved it dearly.
When he had been electrocuted and transported through time, the game had undergone some inexplicable change and crossed over with him.
Now, stimulated by chakra, it had activated.
The system was divided into five modules. At present, only Personal Attributes and the Skills System were lit up; the others could not be selected.
"System, open the Beginner's Pack."
As you wish!
As the voice fell, one epic scene after another appeared before Ryōken's eyes, stirring his heart with their grandeur.
The Star Forger, Aurelion Sol, who held stars in his hand and lay sprawled like a galaxy.
The Wandering Caretaker Bard, incarnation of the universe's will, who wandered through the gaps and ends of space and time.
The Eternal Hunters Kindred, rulers of death and incarnations of the Grim Reaper.
All manner of heroic legends continuously surfaced before Ryōken's eyes, making his blood boil and his heart surge.
The images finally froze on a towering man clad in heavy armor and carrying a greatsword—the Might of Demacia, Garen.
"A tower is safe as long as I stand!"
Congratulations, Host. You have obtained the Might of Demacia Garen's talent: Tenacity!
Hearing this, Ryōken had thought it was over.
Yet the frozen image began to scroll again, this time stopping on a fearless hero wielding a long spear—the Seneschal of Demacia, Xin Zhao.
"The glint of a cold spear arrives first, then the lance follows like a dragon!"
Congratulations, Host. You have obtained the Seneschal of Demacia Xin Zhao's skill: Fearless Advance!
As the voice faded, the images before him slowly dimmed and gradually disappeared.
The moment the images vanished, a mysterious energy flowed out from Ryōken's mind and spread in all directions, rapidly merging into every part of his body—even into the deepest layers of his genes.
A numb, itchy sensation immediately rose from every inch of his body.
Visible to the naked eye, Ryōken's thin body gradually became sturdy and well-built, no longer bearing its former frail appearance.
"Is this Garen's talent, Tenacity?"
Ryōken muttered to himself, unable to suppress the delight on his face.
He clenched his fist and felt an unprecedented sense of fullness. He felt like he could take on ten people at once.
At that moment, a faint green glow surrounded Ryōken's entire body, continuously healing the hidden injuries left behind from his earlier training. Bathed in the endless green light, it felt as though every one of the hundreds of billions of cells in his body was radiating joy and pleasure, infecting him with the same feeling.
One could imagine just how vigorous his life force was now. Even the Senju Clan might not have been any better.
"Though it hasn't increased my strength or speed, with such powerful recovery, I won't need to worry about injuries from future taijutsu training!"
After controlling his excitement, Ryōken recalled the other skill from the Beginner's Pack and hurriedly opened the Personal Attributes panel. The attribute list now contained several new entries.
Host: Ryōken Talent: Tenacity lv1 Tenacity: Greatly increases the body's recovery ability while out of combat or in a calm, focused state. Skill: Fearless Advance lv1 Fearless Advance: Charges forward at extreme speed, instantly arriving before an enemy and dealing piercing damage. Strength Level: Unranked Items: None
"Fearless Advance... like this?"
Ryōken rose to his feet and fixed his gaze ahead. With a turn of thought, his body shot forward with a whoosh, becoming an afterimage and appearing on the other side in the blink of an eye.
The moment he arrived, a feeling of unbearable strain surged through his body, followed by waves of cramping pain. The speed had been too great for his body to bear.
"At this speed, it's probably faster than an ordinary Chunin?"
"But with my current body, I probably won't be able to move after using it twice."
"The body is the foundation of everything!"
Ryōken pondered this. Most instructors at the Ninja Academy were Chunin-level.
Thus, Ryōken had some understanding of a Chunin's speed. Fearless Advance might not match a Chunin using the Body Flicker Technique, but this skill required no hand seals.
That greatly improved the skill's practicality and suddenness.
"Still, I'll need a sharp weapon to deal any respectable damage. Xin Zhao uses a long spear, but... I can only use kunai!"
Ryōken's face darkened. Though he really wanted to buy a long spear, the Naruto World seemingly did not have such things.
Suddenly, a strange look flashed through Ryōken's eyes as he carefully sensed his chakra.
He discovered that after using Fearless Advance, the chakra consumption was negligible. Instead, it consumed far more stamina, though that was likely because his body was still weak.
Despite his confusion, Ryōken began another test.
He activated the skill, but his body did not react at all. Fortunately, activating it did not require him to shout its name, or that would have been awkward.
"Is there a cooldown?"
Ryōken did not know whether to laugh or cry, but he could do nothing about it.
After waiting a while and conducting careful tests, Ryōken worked out the skill's cooldown. It was roughly four seconds.
He wondered whether the cooldown could be reduced after the skill was upgraded.
With that thought, Ryōken asked in his heart, "System, how do skills level up?"
Whenever the Host kills a powerful opponent of a new rank, a variable number of Skill Points will be awarded according to their strength, along with one skill draw opportunity.
A breakthrough in the Host's own chakra will also grant one skill draw opportunity.
Skill Points are used to upgrade skills. Raising LV1 to LV2 requires one Skill Point, and each subsequent level requires one additional Skill Point.
Upon hearing that, Ryōken nodded thoughtfully.
In the world of Naruto, although the divisions of strength were not clearly defined, there were still patterns to follow.
They were roughly divided into Genin, Chunin, Jonin, Kage-level, Super-Kage, and Six Paths-level, with differences within each rank as well.
By that count, there were at most fourteen skills. Still, if he drew well, that should be enough.
Besides, if possible, he would not simply give up cultivating ninjutsu. After all, Naruto had many powerful ninjutsu—the Eight Gates Formation, Flying Thunder God, Sage Mode, and so on.
They were all powerful and practical techniques, stronger than most skills.
But none of that was something he should be thinking about now. There was no telling whether he could even live to that point.
Thinking that, Ryōken shook his head and stopped letting his imagination run wild.
He should train his body first. No matter what, building a powerful body could never be wrong. With the Tenacity talent, he would not have to worry about recovery, so he could try pushing himself to the limit.
Just as he was about to resume training, Ryōken suddenly thought of something else.
