"Enough with the big talk, brat!" As the words left his lips, Uchiha Lieyang blurred into a shadow and slashed fiercely toward Yu.
Yu gave a cold snort and met the strike head-on without dodging.
Instantly, blade met blade, sending sparks flying everywhere.
Uchiha Lieyang adopted the most direct approach, relying on his speed to dance around Yu, his sword style akin to a violent storm, raining down relentless slashes.
Yu, however, was like a small boat drifting in a tempest. His footwork was ethereal, and as he sensed the flow of the wind around him, he defended against Uchiha Lieyang's attacks with impenetrable precision.
Uchiha Lieyang grew increasingly alarmed with every exchange. He felt as though every move he made was being seen through by this young boy, who was even using the force of his own attacks to counter him. Every strike was incredibly tricky, both in technique and angle.
A single lapse in concentration would result in the boy leaving a deep gash on his body.
"Brother Lieyang, is this the extent of your glory? Since we are opponents, then in the name of the Uchiha, give it your all!" Yu parried a slash from Uchiha Lieyang and, while drawing back his sword, left a shallow wound on the man's abdomen.
Uchiha Lieyang's face twitched in pain as he stared at Yu's earnest questioning.
Uchiha Lieyang felt as wretched as if he had swallowed a fly. With his focus at its peak, he watched Yu's next sudden attack. "How the hell did you see that I wasn't using my full strength?"
The moment Uchiha Lieyang's focus faltered, Yu leaned backward to dodge his strike, then pivoted his body. In the eyes of the horrified Uchiha Lieyang, whose Three Tomoe were spinning wildly, the boy caught his thigh before he could dodge, leaving another wound from which blood spurted out.
Uchiha Lieyang gritted his teeth against the pain and immediately put some distance between them.
Yet, how could Yu let him escape so easily? Yu's body now felt as weightless as a ghost, following in hot pursuit.
Yu's drooping blade flicked upward, striking rapidly toward Uchiha Lieyang's abdomen.
A sense of extreme danger surged in Uchiha Lieyang's heart. The sixth sense honed on the battlefield for years screamed through his nerves. The Three Tomoe in his eyes suddenly manifested and began spinning frantically as he desperately tried to evade this fatal blow.
"Swish!"
The sound of fabric tearing rang out. Uchiha Lieyang narrowly avoided the lethal strike, though a blood-red mark half a finger deep was left on his abdomen. He stopped a short distance away, looking at the completely composed Yu with wary eyes.
Uchiha Lieyang glanced at the wound that kept seeping blood, a bloodthirsty glint flashing in his eyes.
"Brat, you have completely angered me..." Uchiha Lieyang tore off his shirt and quickly bound the wound on his abdomen.
"I admit that this duel involves the strong bullying the weak, but for the future of the Uchiha clan, this fight is not about personal shame! It is a gamble on the future of the family."
"As for an apology, I will give you a sincere one after I win this fight, but for now, let me show you my true strength!"
Uchiha Lieyang spun his Sharingan violently. Now, bolstered by the ocular power, his dynamic vision was drastically enhanced, and a dense killing intent locked firmly onto Yu.
Yet, Yu felt nothing at all. While killing intent and aura were forms of mental suppression, it was no exaggeration to say that among the current Uchiha clan, there was no one who could challenge Yu's mental fortitude.
"Heh, seeing you like this, Brother Lieyang, I thought you were going to fight me to the death! But infighting among kin is never a good thing. Since that's the case, I suppose I should take this a bit more seriously."
After speaking, to the shock of Uchiha Lieyang, Yu gently stroked the fire in his hand. Wherever his fingers touched, hot, crimson flames erupted instantly.
"Come, Brother Lieyang!" Yu held his flaming sword diagonally in one hand and gestured for him to come.
"Hmph, don't be arrogant. I admit you are a genius, but without awakened eyes, everything will have nowhere to hide when facing these eyes of mine."
Uchiha Lieyang appeared incredibly confident now. Although Yu's flaming sword stance was intimidating, he believed...
"Yu, experience the true pride of the Uchiha! In front of the awakened Sharingan, no matter how arrogant a genius is, they will only end up hating that they lack these eyes."
The corners of Yu's mouth curled up. "Are you finished? If you are, I'm starting for real!"
Under Uchiha Lieyang's disbelieving gaze, Yu tossed his longsword high into the air and held up two fingers.
"Myriad Sword Art!" The flaming sword in the sky seemed to split instantly, and hundreds of dense, flaming swords stood suspended in the air.
This scene, which defied all logic, left everyone present stunned.
Yu spoke softly to the frozen Uchiha Lieyang, "I wonder if your eyes can track the trajectory of all my fire swords!"
With a light flick of Yu's fingers, the hundreds of swords moved in unison. Like missiles equipped with guidance systems, they shot toward Uchiha Lieyang from all directions.
Uchiha Lieyang dodged and weaved through the rain of swords, looking utterly wretched. Every time he tried to charge at Yu, a fierce attack from the fire swords forced him to retreat.
As Yu's five fingers danced, Uchiha Lieyang, caught in the sword rain, looked like a clown being toyed with. If Yu told him to jump left, he dared not jump right; one wrong move would land him in a sea of blades and fire.
Itachi, sitting with his mother, watched Uchiha Lieyang jumping back and forth, a trace of sympathy flashing in his eyes.
"Brother is truly terrifying. Even without those eyes, he is still fearsomely strong! Is there really any way I can surpass such a brother?"
"Brother Lieyang, please focus your attention and bring out your true strength. This time, my sword will slash your right shoulder! Please, do not let your mind wander; I have no desire to be stained with the blood of my kin."
"Damn it! Brat, don't think you've won just because of this!" Uchiha Lieyang endured the pain in his body, his face twisted as he roared at Yu.
He bore the excruciating pain, quickly dodging Yu's fierce attacks while searching for an opening. As a genius with a Three Tomoe Sharingan, he hadn't encountered such a humiliating situation in a long time.
Yu's attacks were simply too bizarre. The hundreds of dense fire swords seemed to possess their own intelligence; no matter what he planned to do next, the swords could predict it in advance. It was more "Uchiha-like" than an actual Uchiha with a Sharingan.
For a moment, he even doubted if his own eyes were fake, and that Yu's cold, deep-ocean eyes were the true Sharingan.
No, I cannot let Yu fully control this battle. Calm down, observe carefully, observe carefully!
"Damn it! What exactly are these swords? Why can they proactively evade attacks?" The more Uchiha Lieyang observed, the more he wanted to curse out loud!
