"Not good!" Nalant quickly realized what was about to happen, and his heart jolted in alarm.
Roar!
Before he could react, the three-headed Hellhound let out an earth-shaking roar.
The Hellhound was in a miserable state. Its once fairly taut dark-red hide was now covered in wounds of all sizes, making it look like a mangy dog.
Of its three raised heads, two now hung limply. Though the eyeballs in those two heads still moved, they had lost their former vigor, and even the red glow in their eyes had dimmed.
Only the middle head remained unaffected despite blood streaming from its mouth and nose, its eyes fixed on Nalant with boundless hatred.
Along with its roar, a terrifying blaze emerged from the smoke and dust.
This blaze was nothing like the Little Fireballs spat by Fire-Spitting Lizards and Hellhounds.
It was a scorching mass of fire like a blazing meteor. As it swept through the air, it instantly scattered the remaining wisps of smoke and dust, hurtling straight toward the position.
"Quick, everyone retreat! Fall back to the castle!" Nalant knew the creature had gone berserk. The bloodlust in its eyes sent a shiver through even him.
As he dodged the flames spewed by the Hellhound, he immediately shouted at all the guards around him.
A mere four- or five-meter trench could never stop such a crazed behemoth.
Boom!
Just as Nalant's shout fell, a thunderous blast erupted behind him, followed by a scorching heat wave that shoved him several steps forward.
Fortunately, the Hellhound had still been some distance away, giving Nalant enough time to escape the flames' blast radius unhurt.
"Quick! By my lord's order, everyone retreat!"
With that boom, the surrounding guards finally reacted. They turned and sprinted wildly toward the castle's gentle slope.
Roar!
