"Director" David had been a previous piece, but he failed.
Thus, the protagonist was born different, possessing the cheat ability "Apocalyptic Dream."

In the end, the protagonist used Corpse Engraving to devour Mad Dream in reverse and became the Dream-God, yet fell into eternal sleep to resist the dual influence of "Mad Dream" and "Corpse Engraving." Thus, he regained himself, then turned back and created the authority of "Mirage" to help the Lord of Sinking earlier in the timeline.
Omer's shell was corrupted by "Mad Dream" and transformed into the Duke of Sulfur, intent on destroying the world and smelting all things into one. Toria Gerard, daughter of Caesar Gerard, the Crippled King, was born from the Duke of Sulfur's shell and became the Sorrowful Madonna.
