Bang! Bang!
The sound of Hashirama Senju collapsing reached both Toji and Tsunade at once.
"Grand—Grandpa!"
"Hashirama!"
Tsunade was fast, but Toji was faster. He practically flashed to Hashirama's side, helped him up, and leaned him against a corridor pillar.
He immediately released Heavenly Mercy Threads from his fingertips, layered them with the faint glow of the Mystical Palm Technique, and raced against time to give Hashirama one final rescue attempt.

Still, it was only an improvement. It merely preserved his final breath.
After Mito gave a great deal of blood, Toji used Heavenly Mercy Threads to stitch her wound closed. Then, pretending to be shocked, he asked, "Mito, what happened? Hashirama, he—"
"Ah."
