Fierce Battle with the Ancient Spirits

A door had suddenly appeared.

It blocked Ian's path.

There were no keyholes or handles on the door, only countless twisted, grotesque reliefs—shapes of indescribable creatures. Some resembled giant serpents and vines entwined together; others looked like distorted lumps of flesh covered in eyes; still others were entirely abstract.

Geometric symbols that seemed to represent some primal concept.

These reliefs were not inanimate. They slowly—excruciatingly slowly—writhed and shifted, emitting a faint glow and low hum that threw the mind into disarray.

The massive door exuded an ancient, savage aura, brimming with chaos and primal power, as though it itself were some terrifying living entity merely slumbering.

Before the great door, several enormous figures lay crouched in the shadows on either side of the passage.

Ian's gaze instantly locked onto them.

These were the "ancient spirits" the blind man had spoken of.

Their forms varied wildly and bore no resemblance to ordinary living creatures.

One looked like a constantly churning whirlwind made of sand and dry bones, with two scarlet lights gleaming at its center.

Another resembled a massive, translucent swamp worm. Its body was covered in suckers that continuously opened and closed, and within each sucker, a human face seemed to flicker in and out of view, screaming in agony.

There was another whose form was the strangest of all.

It was like a pool of viscous black sludge that gleamed with an oily sheen. All manner of distorted illusions kept surfacing across it—at times a prosperous city, at times a battlefield strewn with corpses.

The magical fluctuations they emitted were filled with savagery, chaos, and a primal pressure rooted in the ancient continent itself. These ancient spirits truly clashed with the orderly system of wizarding magic. They were more like terrifying manifestations born
