That was simply the truth.
As representatives of the pinnacle of the food chain and the wizarding world, legendary wizards had never feared challenges. One could say that any wizard who feared challenges could never become a legend.
Now.
Even though this visit to the Ministry of Magic was very likely some sort of trap aimed at him, or at whoever dared to force their way into the Ministry, Ian did not feel the slightest bit uneasy.
If anything, he was faintly excited.
"If they deliberately created the illusion that the Ministry of Magic was undermanned, then lured people with ulterior motives inside to achieve some purpose, I really would have to think more highly of this Ministry."
"Still, the odds aren't that high." After all, the Ministry of Magic had imprisoned Newt this deep underground and required corrupted nature spirits, even whatever lay behind this door, to guard him.
That in itself was highly unusual.
What secret had the "little animals" Newt carried stumbled upon, for the Ministry to go to such lengths?
Could this also be a carefully laid trap, meant to lure in people who were "capable," or who sensed that something was amiss?
Such as... himself?
As for the possibility that this was specifically aimed at him, Ian estimated it at less than ten percent. To calculate the movements and thoughts of a legend, one would need at least another legend.
Just as he had said before, no legend could emerge from a place like the Ministry of Magic. And though this era was still relatively early, it was already an age in which legends had withered away.
The possibility of another legend secretly plotting against Ian was difficult to believe.
Of course.
Whatever was truly going on, Ian believed he would find the answer soon
