It was still a great pity.

He was not even in the same time and space.

The exchange between the elderly Saruman and the man in black took place a thousand years after Saruman's ordeal, while Ian was still trapped in R'lyeh of the past.

He had no way to ask Saruman where he had gotten his hair.

Perhaps he knew, or perhaps he was about to find out.

What was happening here now was being experienced only by Saruman and the man in black. The entire underground of the African Ministry of Magic had already been cleared out by the man in black.

They could not find another witness even if they tried.

"Raven's Tail Feather."

Saruman's voice was incomparably solemn. "What I found was not merely knowledge and records, but this—an actual object. It is a key, a ticket, and—a shelter."

As he spoke, he gently stroked that bizarre feather and continued, "My research was, in fact, research based on the strange properties contained within this feather. It allowed me to find a method. A—unorthodox, extremely dangerous, but perhaps viable method of intervening in the past."

Saruman knew that his plan was about to be put into action.

Whether he kept it secret or not no longer mattered.

Even if the source of the corruption could hear his words, it could no longer stop him. Even if the man in black did not act, the elderly Saruman had already devised a solution.

The reason he wanted the man in black to act now was merely to teach him one more lesson. He wanted to use this opportunity to help the man in black break through the shackles in his heart and go even further in the future.
