Dark silver light shot through like fish slipping into water.
By a hair's breadth.
They pierced straight through that fleeting "void"! The instant they passed through, the wall of flesh immediately returned to normal, becoming even thicker and more grotesque!
But it was already too late.
Behind them, the torrent of pursuing will let out a soundless roar. Wherever it passed, the flesh walls parted on their own, the bands of runic light went dark, and the monster phantoms retreated. Yet because Ian had escaped in such an unconventional way—precisely locating a "system loophole" and exploiting it in an instant—its pursuit was half a beat too slow!
After passing through the flesh wall, the scene before them changed again.
They seemed to have entered a twisting passage formed by the constantly opening and closing inner walls of enormous shells. The passage walls were covered in holes dripping with slime.
From time to time, they spewed clouds of acid mist laden with powerful corrosive and mental-disrupting effects. Beneath their feet was a slick, fleshy floor, like the inner lining of some creature's esophagus.
It writhed constantly, trying to swallow them.
"Stay close. Don't step on anything glowing!" Ian's voice was curt and clear. He pulled Lina along, his figure making rapid turns and sliding through the narrow, warped passage in ways that nearly defied physics. At times, he even briefly "clung" to the ceiling, precisely avoiding every hole that spewed acid mist.
"Such petty tricks can't trap me!"
With every step, he landed on the fleetingly stable "troughs" formed when the fleshy floor undulated. His movements flowed as though he had practiced them countless times, his prediction and use of the environment pushed to the absolute limit. This was not merely speed—it was the ultimate insight into, and exploitation of, loopholes
