"Brother Wei, what did you take a leave from school for?"
Wang Dachui walked beside Zhang Wei and asked curiously.
"What do you think I went off to do?" Zhang Wei asked in return.
Hearing that, Wang Dachui recalled some of the rumors from when Zhang Wei had first left school and listed them one by one. "Some people said you got married. Some said you went home to carry a baby. Oh, right, Coach said you got pregnant."
"That ridiculous?"
Zhang Wei looked astonished as he stared incredulously at Li Haoyang beside him.
How could an honest man have imagined that a joke he had once made would now be heard by the person involved? Li Haoyang's face turned bright red, and he became completely flustered.
An honest man who had done something wrong would feel like he had nowhere to hide.
Zhang Wei did not mind it. He merely sighed and said, "My dad broke his leg at the construction site, and my mom wasn't in good health either. I went home to take care of my dad."
Wang Dachui said in disbelief, "Is Uncle okay?"
"He's fine. He was taken to the hospital in time, so they were able to set it. He wasn't disabled."
Only after his father recovered did he return to school.
At the time, both his parents had told him to stay in school. His father had kept insisting that he was fine and could recover at home on his own.
But how could Zhang Wei, as his son, not know whether he was truly fine? Naturally, he had chosen without hesitation to take a leave from school and return home to care for his father.
"Brother Wei, you're a real man!" Wang Dachui said admiringly.
From Brother Zhang Wei to Brother Wei,
