Ch. 135Staying the Night

Tanjiro invited Tendo Hiruma to stay with the Kamado family after learning he was not a threat, and Hiruma met Tanjiro’s mother, Kie. That night, Hiruma and Obanai Iguro discussed the Hashira’s arrival to protect the family and their chance of confronting Muzan Kibutsuji.

Tanjiro tried to reach Nezuko as she fought the demon blood, while Hiruma ordered the Hashira to retreat from Muzan. The Hashira instead returned to support Hiruma, and another figure raced toward the battlefield.

  • Nezuko briefly moved aside, then attacked Tanjiro again as he pinned her down and called her name.
  • Hiruma recognized that Muzan had held back and ordered the Hashira to execute Plan B and retreat under cover of a snowstorm.

Ch. 139An Unexpected Interference

Hundred Eyes Demon intervened to fight Muzan, giving Hiruma and the Demon Slayer Corps time to retreat as dawn approached. Meanwhile, Tanjiro protected Nezuko from the sunlight and collapsed after shielding her with his own body.

  • Hundred Eyes Demon blocked Muzan from attacking Hiruma, claiming Hiruma as his prey, and fought Muzan while Hiruma escaped.
  • Hiruma met Shinobu Kocho and the others, warned them to flee, and sent them in separate directions to regroup after sunrise.
  • As daylight spread, Muzan abandoned the battered Hundred Eyes Demon, who regenerated and buried himself underground.

Ch. 140She Should Probably Be Considered Dead

Giyu, Hiruma, and the weakened Tanjiro made it down the mountain with Nezuko hidden in a basket. At the Wisteria House, Giyu told Kie that Nezuko had become a demon and was probably dead, causing her to faint.

  • Giyu found Hiruma and Tanjiro in the snow, then helped Nezuko into the basket and shielded her from sunlight.
  • Giyu carried Tanjiro and Nezuko while Hiruma leaned on him as they descended the mountain, where Sabito and Makomo laughed at his awkward load.
  • At the Wisteria House, Shinobu Kocho and Sabito took the unconscious Hiruma and Tanjiro, while Giyu stayed with Nezuko.
