As Shi Feng stepped into the spacetime passage, his vision blurred. When he opened his eyes again, he had arrived somewhere both familiar and unfamiliar.
System: Player has discovered the ancient ruin, Twilight Forest. System: Player will be teleported out of Twilight Forest in eight hours.
"Looks like we got lucky. We were actually teleported to the Wolfman Zone." Shi Feng swept his gaze across the surroundings and roughly guessed their current location.
Ancient ruins were like special secret realms. They opened once every so often, and players had to complete a key quest each time they wanted to enter. Moreover, the location they were teleported into changed with every entry.
Twilight Forest was vast, no smaller than an entire leveling map. It was divided into eight regions, and each teleportation would send players to a random one of those eight regions. The danger level varied slightly from region to region, with the Wolfman Zone considered one of the easier areas to cross.
The Wolfman Zone was dangerous mainly because of its monsters. In the Marsh Zone, for example, one careless step could get a player swallowed by shifting bogs. Magic could not be used in the Stone Forest Zone. The unluckiest destinations were the Ice Rain Zone and the Dark Zone: in one, players could be killed at any moment by hail falling from the sky, while in the other, visibility was abysmal, extending no farther than seven or eight yards. Teams could easily be ambushed and suffer casualties.
The Wolfman Zone, on the other hand, was much better. Its only real trouble was the sheer number of monsters and their highly coordinated attacks.
However, all eight regions ultimately led to the same destination—the center of Twilight Forest. It was just that very few teams
