"A hidden attribute reward—I struck it rich." Shi Feng clenched his fist and could clearly feel that the effects of his physical exertion had lessened as well.
Toughness was one of the four most important hidden attributes for players.
Hidden attributes did not increase any of a player's damage, nor did they reduce any damage received. Yet they were more useful than basic attributes. They did not rise as a player leveled up and could only be improved through special methods.
The Toughness attribute was more akin to a monster's magical body.
Its first effect was reducing the impact that external physical injuries had on combat power.
Its second effect was reducing a player's stamina and mental energy consumption during battle, thereby extending their fighting time.
Its third effect was weakening the loss of combat power caused by excessive stamina and mental energy consumption, allowing players to perform closer to their normal strength.
Because of these three major effects, players desperately coveted the Toughness attribute, especially expert players.
Expert players usually employed various combat techniques during battle, and these techniques consumed considerable stamina and mental energy. Void Step, for example, did not consume much stamina, but it consumed an enormous amount of mental energy, so the number of times it could be used in battle was strictly limited.
If a player's Toughness was high enough, they could greatly increase the number of times they used such combat techniques,
