Luofu Xianzhou - Starskiff Haven
The group disembarked from their ship at the port here.
"Everyone, this is Starskiff Haven. On behalf of the Sky-Faring Commission, this young woman welcomes you all."
"I still need to report back to Lady Yukong, so I'm afraid I cannot give you a proper tour. I hope you will forgive me, my lords. In the meantime, please feel free to explore the Luofu at your leisure." Tingyun waved her fan, offering a feigned, polite apology to the group.
"It is no trouble at all. Thank you, Miss Tingyun," Welt nodded.
Once Tingyun had walked away, March 7th let out a sigh of relief. "Phew, Miss Tingyun is finally gone."
"Yeah, being around a Lord Ravager really makes one nervous," Stelle agreed with a nod.
"Alright, let's set the small talk aside for now. Don't resist; I'm going to place a blessing on you."
As a warm sensation flowed through their bodies, a golden flame mark appeared on the backs of their hands, flickering once before fading from sight.
"That should do it. Even if you face a Lord Ravager, my blessing will be able to save your lives at a critical moment." Having finished, Xiao Xi felt much more at ease herself.
After all, a Lord Ravager was no laughing matter. She could ensure her own safety, but if the enemy struck while they were separated, Stelle and the others would be in grave danger.
With everyone now under a layer of protection, Welt also relaxed significantly. "Now, everyone, let us discuss how we should handle the upper echelons of the Luofu."
"Ah, handle the Luofu's upper echelons? But aren't we here to help the Luofu?" March 7th asked, surprised.
Welt shook his head. "What we think is not important; the point is how the Luofu officials will perceive us. The current situation is that the Luofu is in turmoil, and the Astral Express arriving at such a time will inevitably raise their suspicions."
"That—that's just too much! We clearly have good intentions. If it weren't for our concern for the people on the Luofu, we would be on another planet right now. Honestly, if I had known it would be like this, we wouldn't have come." March 7th complained.
"We may not have any ill intentions, but the Luofu side clearly won't see it that way. Furthermore, if we were to leave under these circumstances, we would likely be labeled as suspects immediately. This is truly a difficult start," Xiao Xi said, rubbing her forehead helplessly.
"There is no need to be so worried." Seeing the atmosphere grow heavy, Welt spoke calmly. "The Astral Express has some reputation in the star sea. Without conclusive evidence, I believe even the Luofu officials would not dare to act recklessly, though some political maneuvering will be unavoidable."
"That may be true, but it's still uncomfortable to be treated this way when we came here with good intentions to help." After hearing everyone's words, Stelle was no longer as lively as she had been at the start.
"Alright, alright, don't worry. The situation isn't as bad as everyone imagines. If they really try to pressure us with words, we don't need to be polite to them either," Xiao Xi comforted them, her tone gentle yet sharp.
"Since the Astral Express cannot easily prove its own innocence as a party involved, if the President of the Hope Mutual Aid Society personally vouches for this matter, the Luofu side will have no choice but to believe it, right?" As she spoke, Xiao Xi blinked playfully and produced the token representing the position of President of the Hope Mutual Aid Society. She swayed the token in her hand, watching with a mischievous smile as everyone looked on in surprise.
