Luofu Xianzhou - Exalting Sanctum
"Let's go, let's go, time to eat!"
"Mm, then let us sample some of the delicacies of the Luofu Xianzhou."
Although the situation on the Luofu was currently tense following the recent Stellaron eruption, causing many large restaurants in Exalting Sanctum to close their doors, the street food stalls remained bustling. One could still hear the vendors calling out on both sides of the street; all in all, it was still quite lively.
After all, maintaining a normal life amidst a great disaster was a difficult challenge, and many shops on the Luofu had temporarily ceased operations.
"Floating Goat Milk, nice and hot Floating Goat Milk! Step right up and grab a cup..."
"Singing Lotus Cake, fragrant and crispy Singing Lotus Cake! You won't lose out, you won't be fooled, what are you waiting for..."
The cries of the street vendors were endless. Stelle and March 7th had gone off to participate in a "competitive eating contest."
Xiao Xi and Welt, meanwhile, found a teahouse, ordered a few cups of hot tea, and sat down to listen to the storyteller while they sipped.
The Astral Express Crew had been here for quite a while. In the interim, Stelle had even gone under the alias "Grey Peony," managed to wipe out a cell of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, captured an organization leader named "Green Hibiscus," and saved a Cloud Knight along the way.
"So, how about that? I'm pretty impressive, right?" Stelle asked with a hint of pride after recounting this tumultuous experience to Xiao Xi and the others.
"Mm-hmm, our Stelle is the best," March 7th replied, clapping.
"Indeed, very impressive," Xiao Xi echoed.
The Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, an organization illegally preaching immortality on the Luofu Xianzhou and followers of the Aeon of Abundance, Yaoshi. Xiao Xi couldn't shake the inexplicable premonition that their shadow was surely cast over all the various incidents occurring on the Luofu.
In the days to come, they would inevitably cross paths with them a few more times—and certainly not in a friendly way.
"By the way, when are we leaving? I confiscated a medical prescription from the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus and was planning to take it to the Alchemy Commission to have it looked at," Stelle said, pulling out a piece of paper covered in writing and asking Welt.
"The Master Diviner of the Divination Commission, Fu Xuan, still needs some time to prepare. I believe there is enough time left for you to investigate that prescription, Stelle," Welt said calmly.
"That's a relief. Uncle Yang, I'd better hurry, so I'll be off." Clutching the prescription, Stelle trotted away.
Neither Welt nor Xiao Xi expected that when Stelle returned, she would look so dejected and defeated.
"Stelle, are you alright? Didn't you go to ask about the prescription? What happened? You don't seem to be in very high spirits," Xiao Xi asked with concern.
Stelle nodded. "I went to the Alchemy Commission to ask the Master Alchemist, Dan Shu, about the formula. That Dan Shu is a 'Heaven-Deficient'—she's blind, yet she worked hard to join the Alchemy Commission. I even went with her to see children who shared her plight."
"I thought she was a good person, and I thought we were at least friends. But I never expected her to be the leader of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, the culprit behind that so-called prescription. She even gave me a pill, saying she wanted me to experience the greatness of Yaoshi."
"If it weren't for my unique constitution, I probably would have been in real trouble. It's just a pity that even after discovering her true colors, I still let her get away."
