With a gunshot, the already chaotic scene spiraled completely out of control.

"The Russians have killed someone!"

No one knew who shouted it, but the cry instantly ignited the entire crowd. The protesters, already seething with rage, were utterly set ablaze.

The reason radicalism bore the word "radical" was that its defining trait was making decisions in a rush of hot blood, never weighing gains against losses.

No matter where they were, everyone had only one thought in their heads: "Kill all the Russians! Blood must be repaid with blood!"

They did not merely think it—they acted. The protesters toppled the gates and walls, charging into the embassy grounds.

Facing the surging masses, the Russian Army guards fought valiantly. But two fists could not beat four hands; even with guns, they were helpless.

After all, this was the embassy district. Security was primarily the responsibility of the Japanese Government, and the guards' weapons were only meant to ward off petty thieves. They had no heavy firepower whatsoever.

Once the crowd had rushed inside, what would happen next went without saying. In any case, the embassies of various countries nearby, which had been watching the spectacle, had already raised their cameras and begun snapping wildly at the chaos.

The only regret was that they were too far away. There was no image quality to speak of; through the photographs, one could only make out the crowd storming the Russian Embassy.

The police responsible for maintaining order nearby were terrified by now. Causing trouble outside the embassy and breaking into it were two entirely different things.

The sheer chaos at the scene made it clear that the people who had broken in were hardly rational sorts. If they did something irrational, the consequences would be unthinkable.

"Chief, what do we do now?"
