New book.
Lately, Haiyue had been preparing a new book and ran a survey in the reader group. Right now, he was at a loss. Pure foreign history was too niche, with less and less of a market; a change in direction was inevitable.
At first, he planned to choose the Ming Dynasty, but after looking through similar works, he awkwardly discovered that the formula Haiyue had racked his brains over had already been used by someone else. Of course, even if the formula was similar, there could still be innovation in the content.
He was halfway through preparing the outline when he flipped through his old books today, and Haiyue suddenly became obsessed with Western fantasy. Who knew why? There had been very few quality Western fantasy works in recent years.
If there weren't any, he would write one himself. That was how Haiyue had entered the industry in the first place. Sentiment was sentiment, but Haiyue still had to eat.
So he wanted to ask everyone here first: could you accept this kind of subject matter? After all, the market didn't lie—few books of the same type meant few readers.
He planned to write: a lord-and-farming story.
A magical Middle Ages setting, or something entirely original—which would you prefer?
It could be adapted from European history, or it didn't have to be.
As for the power system, it could be the traditional magic, battle qi, and alchemy; or later on, wizards and steampunk; or a grand mishmash of everything.
Haiyue sincerely hoped all you esteemed readers could offer some advice.
