After a while, someone shouted that time was up again. Those who had been doing their own thing gathered once more, roaring as they charged toward the defensive wall.
This time, the system side atop the defensive wall had come prepared. They no longer retreated, instead holding their positions on the city wall. Some of the soldiers had originally gone back, since it was impossible for every soldier to remain on the wall at all times.
They needed to eat as well. They had been locked in a standoff with the player army here for nearly an entire day without having eaten anything.
They had also believed this army was merely a ragtag force that would not dare attack them. It would withdraw after a while; it was only here to harass them.
This time, the person commanding the players saw that they had charged halfway there and that the system main city had shown no reaction. He shouted, "Charge a little farther! Retreat once you reach the city wall! Everyone gets a reward of ten silver coins."
"Kill!"
Hearing there was a reward, everyone's spirits surged. Roaring loudly, they rushed forward, their momentum even fiercer than before.
This gave the system side a terrible fright. All the soldiers gathered at the city wall again, preparing for a great battle, yet that group of players retreated once more.
"I'm so furious! Why don't we charge out and fight them? Kill all those players!" a city lord said angrily. After being repeatedly harassed and provoked like this, he had truly had enough.
An old man immediately said, "No! More than twenty city lords are hidden within that army. This is clearly a trap. If we charge out, we will certainly fall for it, and then we will suffer grievous losses."
Thinking
