Volume One, Chapter 90
Xue Changkong stood before the stone gate with his sword in hand, raising it with one arm.
Boom!
A tremendous roar rang out as Xue Changkong poured all his power into the sword without pause. Wisps of blood-colored sword energy emerged from the blade, radiating a power that seemed capable of slaughtering heaven and earth, filling countless hearts with fear.
At that moment, everyone held their breath, tense beyond measure, because Xue Changkong was the last person who might be able to break the barrier.

Xue Changkong swung his sword down. A great river formed from blood-colored sword light surged forward with the power to destroy the world. Nothing could stop it; the ground shattered and collapsed, leaving behind an enormous ravine.
Bang!
The river of blood-colored sword light slammed into the stone gate's protective shield with a deafening crash. The originally indestructible shield split with countless cracks. The river of sword light continued battering it until, at last, the shield shattered.
Countless people could not help crying out in excitement. At last, someone had broken the first barrier.
Hongyan and the others also looked astonished. They had not expected Xue Changkong to be so powerful.
The people in the stands also breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the first layer of the barrier had been broken. If not even one barrier had been broken, it would have been truly humiliating.
Xue Changkong also relaxed after breaking through the first layer. Hearing the cheers around him, he revealed a faint smile.
After waiting for a while, Xue Changkong recovered his strength and raised his sword once more, continuously pouring all his power into it. The sword again released wisps of blood-colored sword energy, and that power that slaughtered heaven and earth spread outward once more.
